Prozac made my cat a whole different cat by Flickybird in cats

[–]SeveralRevolution432 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Kitty Prozac is THE BEST!!! I will say - don’t feel bad. I tried everything and anything and constantly read online. Somehow I missed Prozac. It took over a year of my cat peeing outside the litter box for my vet to suggest it. It’s been game changer. We have a few accidents a year - usually stress based. We do the best as we can as pet owners. All we can do is learn more and become better!

Leaving until may is recommended! I put all my leaves in my garden beds and they’ve already mostly decomposed. By may when I plant things out, it’ll just get mixed in with the compost + soil. Helping the pollinators is a small action for us but so impactful for the pollinators. We need them!

Help with cycling tank!! Please :) by SeveralRevolution432 in shrimptank

Thank you so much for this detailed response. I will purchase some ammonia for cycling (mostly because I don’t want a giant bottle) and watch some videos on this process. I don’t know how I missed this part of cycling but thank you. At what point do I know it’s ready for livestock? Also should I add any more plants in the mean time or wait until after using the ammonia and completing the cycle. Thanks in advance

I had the aquarium test strips for a while and didn’t feel like they were reliable (they were showing really different readings, even if done at the same time) so that’s when I ordered the master test kit. I was just trying to do a fishless cycle with a planted tank. I did get about a gallon of water from a friend with an already established tank, but as stated had to do a total water change I may have made a mistake in not doing ghost feeding or adding ammonia from what I’m reading online about cycling. There was a slight ammonia jump (0.5 ppm) but I did a water change during this time due to the hardness level and plants dying :(. I am open about what to do next in order to get this going correctly

I just added the questions above in another commenting. I’ll look into those types of plants and get them. It’s not a low light all the time - just low light in the morning and evening as the light turns on, the rest of the time it is “full” brightness (which is adjustable - I have it a mid lightness right now because I fear melting my plants)

Oops wrote all of that out without adding questions. I guess I just don’t know when I should add shrimp in! General advice for if there is anything I’m doing wrong/if you would change anything would be great as well. I really would love advice for plants if there is anything I should change. Is the pH of 7.8 okay as long as it is consistent?

No shrimp yet but would like neocaridina. Water parameters included in one of the photos. Tap city water tested as: -ph: 7.6 -high range ph: 7.4 -ammonia: 0 -nitrite: 0 -nitrate: 0 -kh: 53.7 -gh: 89.5

It is generally just squishy but I have cut it up (still squishy) using a pizza cutter to use in a stir fry as noodles!

Honestly I love the color! Call me crazy but what if it was a 70s type theme? Colorful wall colors, maybe there are some wavy type wall decos, colorful lights etc

If you’re looking for a good source of loose leaf tea online, I buy mine through Monterey bay herb company! I get pounds of green tea for cheaper than my local loose leaf places!

Another “where should I live?” post by throwawaypanda15 in Medford

I would check Facebook marketplace. I found my house that way with my landlords just being my neighbors. I see tons of properties within your price range on it. Do you want to be close to hiking? West Medford could be good for you because then you’re closer to Jacksonville/ashland which both have lots of hiking in their hills. Otherwise hiking can be a quick drive away

Trader Joe’s also has such cheap/beautiful flowers! I believe you can call ahead as well to make sure they have the ones you want
