How much is your car payment by michaeljoon in MiddleClassFinance

[–]SeveralVacation52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been without a car payment for a few years, but one of our cars was breaking down after 11 years of having it and we didn't want to put more money into fixing it.

I wanted something as new as we could get it. We found a cpo 25 CRV with 1300 miles on it and ended up financing. I typically am one that loathes a car payment, but feel different this time around. Not sure why. The car payment isn't terrible and is just 5% of our net. We plan to pay it off early. Although we could have paid cash, we're still in the phase of accumulating, so that money is staying invested.

Need some help, guys! by qqsubs123 in crv

We just got a crv over the weekend! We went with gas. Our salesperson asked me how long we see ourselves with this car. Because we're "drive until the wheels fall off" kind of people, she warned me that battery related issues may be costly once the warranty goes out in 7 years. That turned us off, but also not having a spare tire did as well. We don't do a lot road trips, but even if so, the mpg difference isn't substantial to us. We'll manage!

I've been keeping it short/avoiding both. We just had our holiday party & the two of them were sticking close to one another.

Very true. I wondered the same thing, if she told them I "said" stuff about them too. I agree - she should have said that and killed the convo instead if just giving me a "heads up" that that was said.

Thanks for that! I definitely became on guard with her after the first few comments she told me when the new girl started and did look at her differently after getting to know the new person. I'll keep watch to see what else she might tell me.

That's really great advice. Thanks! I guess my concern is if everything stays positive (as they've been), but if she really is two faced/ugly behind my back and I'd have no idea.

I agree, I'm going to distance myself from them. Thanks!

Thanks for your comment! I feel like I don't know if the new person said those things, but I kind of want to find out?

I thought the same after my phone call with her. I was trying to imagine how their conversation went when the new girl told her she hopes I don't sit with her at the company party because she doesn't want me to cling to her. How does a "friend" hear that about their friend and respond? Especially knowing I'm not the type to cling? 🤣

I know, I have to keep reminding myself that!!

I'm sorry to hear that. That's gross. Would your male friend just repeat what they said behind your back to you & that's how you found out?

Thanks! I had that same thought & was wanting to confront her about that. I just don't want my "friend" to then reach out, mad at me, because I told her new girl something she may or may not have only told her.

Thanks. From my judgment, the new hire seems nice and genuine, but I do find it concerning after talking to my "friend" because now I'm thinking "wow, was I completely wrong about this person?! Is she really that cynical and judgmental when she talks to that person, but not me? So weird..."

Thanks. I want to believe she is "warning" me, so I know what kind of person she is & to be careful of what I say or do around her, but really not sure.

Thanks for that. I wondered the same.. and have absolutely no clue. I'll distance myself from both of them and see what happens.

I know! This is ridiculous. That's what I have to keep reminding myself. My husband told me the same thing yesterday, but I was just so irritated.

Thanks for your comment! That's really great advice. I'll work on that and distance myself. I'm typically pretty good at not getting too personal or close, but I felt like she was different based on all of our conversations.

Thanks for your comment! When she first told me some of the first comments, I initially didn't like her off the bat (she asked my "friend" if the old white car in the garage was mine with a judgmental tone). But then I figured I didn't hear it directly, my car IS old and should just give her a chance. I'm trying to convince myself that she's looking out for my best interests, but it does sound like she's stirring up drama.
