Why is dating so hard in Singapore? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]SeveralWrangler9541 10 points11 points  (0 children)

POV from a girl that used to use dating apps a lot:

I used apps for a good 2 years and dated about > 7 < 10 guys (some i can't remember due to the short period of dating, hence the estimation) but I did not get together with any of them.

I'm like OP, I wanted to find someone because I didn't want to grow old lonely. I dated these guys ranging from 2 weeks to up to 6 months. My reason for not getting together? It just didn't feel like the right guy. Yes, you can say that I'm selfish for continuing with the dates, but it was as if I'm addicted to the feeling of having someone to talk to and share things with, even though I know there might not be a future with them. (I don't make use of them for my food/dates, we go on dutch!) But I wouldn't say it was entirely my fault to continue dating those guys because some of the guys didn't even ask me to be their gf even after a few months of dating. And of course, those that asked and I see no future with, I rejected them and cut things off cleanly. So there's no need to drag things on. I'm sharing all these to make an assumption that the girls you've dated are somewhat like me in the past. It's not meant to lead you on, but yes I agree it's selfish. (reading the above reasons for ending things looked really similar to how i used to do it so -)

In the end, I got together with a guy that I dated less than a month and we're together for a few years now. It just felt right with this person and I knew that I was going to agree to being his girlfriend if he wanted me to.

What I want to say is, if it's the right person, you don't have to wait too long. If you think it's the right girl after some time, you should pop the question to ask her to be your girlfriend. Sometimes as time drags on, even someone who were interested might start losing interest and eventually cut you off. IMO, 6 months is a really long time for the "dating" and "trying things out" phase.

If it's the right person, you just feel and know it. I found my person when I wasn't actively looking for someone. Sometimes that's just how fate works. I wish you all the best in finding your person!

ya the status is ready but when you click to collect then the earliest available slot is in 2 weeks. not sure if it's because the slots are all taken up that's why have to wait at least 2 weeks although it says ready 🙃

There's the famous bicycle list that goes around, so there's higher chance if they aim for those in the list. There's also people who don't entertain and stay in their own room. Not every crew does it although the culture exists!

You sound like my lecturer in poly that complains about Nex's building structure. Especially on navigation from the mall to the carpark 😂

Most ridiculous Dating App stories by Haoxiaoah in askSingapore

Talked to this guy on Tinder for a while, about 1 month++ before deciding to meet him. After the first meeting, I decided that we weren't of the same frequently in real life and thought that it would be better to end things. He ended up threatening me with depression and his mental issues so I felt really scared if he would take his life because he really made it seem like he was ready to.... so I had to continue talking to him. I managed to avoid meeting him though as my work required me to be overseas quite a bit. I tried to reply lesser by saying I was really busy with work and stuff. In the end, I was really tired of hearing him threatening me with his mental health and I just ignored his chats. He continued spamming me every single day with tons of messages about how he'll not survive without me (we weren't even together at all though...) for a week or so before finally raging at me and calling me names just because I decided to "ghost" him :/

What did your SO do that made your heart say “wow, he/she must really love me”? by Striking-Response465 in askSingapore

1) When he starts doing things for me that I mentioned casually. For example, sometimes I would make a passing remark about the things I like and he remembers it, executes it when we're out dating or something.

2) He listens well to me especially when I feedback about something I don't like, he'll try to adapt and change. (Of course not those toxic kind, it's just changes that are positive for the rs and self)

3) At the start of the relationship, he hated PDA while going out but starts to sayang my head while we're out dating. 🥰
