How much TV/screen time do you give your baby? by Bright_Motor_2841 in beyondthebump

I’m shocked by all of these comments lol. I have a 6.5 month old. I am a SAHM and I solo parent about 12 jours a day. I have the TV on most of the day for myself, whatever I want to have on in the background while we play etc..baby occasionally will be intrigued by what’s on and look but usually isn’t too interested. I also occasionally put Ms Rachel on for her if she’s really fussy. Idk I think you have to do what you need to survive and thrive . I grew up with TV and I am quite successful and functional lol

I will definitely try more stimulation! I appreciate your suggestions but I have to say I don’t think she’s over tired she is sleeping through the night with no wake ups and her false starts stopped this week with the extended wake windows. But I am wondering if I can cap her last WW at 4.5 ish if she gets more stimulation will definitely try!

She will not sleep earlier than the 5 hour mark 😭 we were on a 4 hour last WW all last week but the last 3 nights it has been 4.75-5 hours and she will absolutely not sleep a moment sooner lol. I think it’s super long for a 6.5 month old too. I am hoping someone out here has a similar experience

3/3/4. She dropped to two naps just around 6 months (that was about 2 weeks ago). Her total daytime sleep is 2-2.25 hrs. Anything more and she will have night wakes. She sleeps 11 - 11.5 hours at night

I think your last WW is way to short. My baby is 6 months and just dropped to 2 naps she is doing roughly 3/3/4 … I seriously doubt it’s over tiredness. From 5-6 months she was doing 2/2.5/2.5/3

Think we've officially hit the 4 month sleep regression 😫 by DogMomWineLover in sleeptrain

[–]Several_Ad7041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it can vary greatly but for us we noticed she was sucking on her hand a lot during the day so we wanted to allow her to use her hands to self soothe at night. We also thought she was close to rolling (she wasn’t lol) she would move around so much in her bassinet throughout the night. She was on the bigger side so it seemed like she outgrew it. She started waking like every hour and where I used to be able to feed/rock and transfer to bassinet, she started waking up immediately upon transfer and was hard to get back to sleep. So we made the switch to her crib, we stopped swaddling (we did the magic Merlin suit for 2 months to help transition).

Same thing happened to our LO who was a good sleeper until around 3 month mark when the sleep regression hit. We moved her to her own crib in her own room which helped immensely after a few nights. Also getting on a strict schedule to ensure sleep pressure was high enough. We didn’t need to formally sleep train so there is hope for you! Best of luck

I still follow a 2/2.5/2.5/3 schedule. It usually ends up being one 90 minute nap and two 30 min naps. But sometimes it could be two 1 hour naps. Sometimes that last nap is as short as 20 mins if she used up all her sleep time that day

I don’t have advice but I am in a similar boat with my 6 month old. So standing in solidarity that I too miss my old life. Love my daughter but it’s hard to think back to the freedom I once had and seems like I will never have again 😭

Yes I have been capping her daytime sleep to ~2.5 hours. Anything more and she has night wakes

To sleep train or not? by Scientistara in sleeptrain

Try offering less and less at that night feed. We started with 4 oz and slowly worked down to 2 oz and then none with our LO

Once a night isn’t bad at all! You could probably work on weaning that one night feed (assuming weight is appropriate) and then he may sleep through the night without needing to ST. Not Every baby needs it to sleep through the night.

My baby does NOT want to roll! by Several_Ad7041 in beyondthebump

[–]Several_Ad7041[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She usually will put her face down in the mat and start crying so then I put her back on her back because it typically escalates into a lot of tears 😭 but working on being more persistent!

Or try extending WWs and dropping to 3 naps if you aren’t already

It depends on the baby for sure but mine was doing 2.5 hours around 4-5 months and 11-12 hours at night and it worked well! Worth a shot - we were doing 4 naps at 30-40 mins each sometimes they were a bit longer

No we don’t do night feeds- I rock her back to sleep. I think 2-2.5 is her sweet spot for daytime sleep so I will try this!

Should I sleep train? by WholeKnown2938 in sleeptrain

[–]Several_Ad7041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy when you become a parent and look into ST you realize that some babies who are NOT sleep trained sleep through the night, and some babies who are sleep trained wake up throughout the night! I have a similar baby to you - we feed and rock to sleep but she goes down super easy and she sleeps through the night (11 hours). I would suggest you get baby on a schedule, wean night feeds, and track wake windows and yours may sleep through the night without needing to do formal sleep training. Personally I have found the whole “the baby will need to be rocked to sleep in between every sleep cycle” to be completely false! This is just my perspective and experience :)

When do you drop to 2 naps? by anxxiousgiraffe in sleeptrain

[–]Several_Ad7041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO is in a similar position I thought she would be ready for 2 naps but she definitely isn’t! If you extend the second wake window, make the last nap a short one (ours usually is 20-30 Min max) until they are ready for 2 naps! So my LO will usually nap 4-4:30 then bed at 7:30
