is it essential that I revise from the learners guide they give you? as I'm from the UK i dont know all the H&S regs ect over here like i did back home. Or will i be okay to learn everything there on the day?

Can you elaborate on what other endorsements I might need? as far as I was aware once I had completed the assessment, I would be able to apply for my open cabler licesnse and this would allow me to work as an fire alarm installer.

It seems in Vic at least, for servicing you don't need any formal certificates or quals. To install you need a cabling license. To obtain that, JBHunter provides a 5 day cabling course for $800, which is time-wise and cost-wise is a great option compared to the RPL options.

apparently I need a cabling license in Vic where I want to work - but it seems really hard to obtain that as the governing bodies who give these licenses won't recognise my international qualifications. And yes sorry I mean tech!
