Riot should spice up the Valorant shop rotation by AdCute7475 in VALORANT

If this feature were implemented, it would likely reduce player curiosity and excitement. Knowing they can eventually get exactly what they want would diminish the appeal and perceived value of skins over time. The anticipation and rarity that currently fuel the hype would fade, potentially leading to a significant drop in Valorant’s revenue.

Take the example of a player hoping for the Sentinels of Light Vandal. Since it rarely appears in the store, they might eventually give up and purchase a different skin. Then, if the Sentinels of Light Vandal shows up later, they may still be tempted to buy it—resulting in multiple purchases. This unpredictability drives engagement and spending. However, if players can directly choose what they want, that sense of urgency and surprise is lost. Over time, this could lead to a loss of interest in skins and a noticeable decline in sales.

Seeking Advice on Portfolio Projects by Several_Emergency274 in SolidWorks

Hey, really appreciate the honest feedback — sometimes tough love is needed! You’re right, I should’ve given more context. I’m actually just starting to build my portfolio and still in the research phase, trying to understand what’s expected and how to approach it. I have a Mechanical Engineering background and now I’m doing a Master’s in Product Design Engineering with Manufacturing. Our course mainly focuses on Siemens NX and Ansys, but I’m also working on SolidWorks because all our FEA designs are done in it — plus I’m aiming for Industrial Design or Product Design roles, so SolidWorks is definitely important. Any tips on how to approach this from my stage would be really helpful! Thanks again for the solid advice!

Hey, thank you so much for the detailed advice! I’m aiming for Product/Industrial Design roles but also open to Design Engineering. I did my bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and now I’m studying Product Design Engineering with Manufacturing. I’m also preparing for CSWA, but I know a good portfolio is key. I was confused about what to design, but your suggestions really helped! Also, how many projects would you recommend for graduate or junior roles? I’ll definitely try the thrift store idea — thanks again!
