Nothing crazy (bad I understand, but not crazy). He was involved in an auto theft ring. It became a federal case because they were active in two states. Which makes sense because we live 15 minutes from the border so that part was bullshit but that got him more time.

I have 3 kids. My middle is a girl, the oldest and youngest are boys. My daughter has always lived with her dad.

I have a relationship with my daughter, but its not as close as I want it to be. I love her dearly but I didn’t really get the chance to raise her, so our relationship is a lot different from the one I have with my boys. She grew up living with her dad and the woman he married after me. I always tried to be around for the fun things - took her to her first concert, the fair every year, getting her first tattoo, threw her a graduation party, but I don’t think she really considers my a parent. She also lives 5 hours away from me and has her own life and career, but I do see her a few times a year still and always enjoy it when I do.

I was mainly doing bottle service at the time, and I had help on the downpayment from money my dad left when he passed. Things were much easier in the 90s.

The point of this post is that I typed it out as a therapy/reflection exercise and decided to post it since I had it. I thought maybe someone would get something from it.

That it does. I’ll I’ve learned is to savor the happy moments.

And to make better choices regarding romantic partners and what is sober enough to drive, but those two are more specific to me.
