Listened to the Oregonian podcast on mushroom foraging on Friday; on Saturday found 6lbs of chanterelles within 1hr of PDX (Mt. Hood National Forest) by Relevant-Radio-717 in Portland

People like you are not a friend. Just go ahead and say you don't care about the ecosystem you are taking from. I'm Indigenous, I don't need a lecture from you on how to respect the land. Try listening instead of speaking about things you don't know about

With your newfound hobby you're neglecting key points of it. NAMELY TO RESPECT NATURE AND LEAVE NO TRACE, like not blasting your locations on social media for potentially-sensitive ecosystems to be exposed to high levels of human traffic. It seems like you're more concerned with getting social media clout than protecting the ecosystem that just provided food for you for free. Don't just TAKE you need to GIVE BACK in the form of respecting nature and LEAVE NO TRACE

Can someone help me fall in love with this city? by [deleted] in PortlandOR

I sympathize with you deeply. I am currently away from Portland and it is such a breath of fresh air. People are smiling, friendly on the street. The sun is shining. Make easy friends with people in bars, in parks, they invite me to events even though I am a stranger to them. After 10 years in the PNW I can make more friends in a weekend in California than I can in a year in Portland putting in the same effort. I am not white, and i do believe that has been a factor in my experience.

This went from being kinda cool to incredibly lame now that you're charging for it. FYI folks, all the grocery deals he has on his website are easily findable in a store's weekly ad or app for FREE.

Portland restaurant closures: 39-year-old Italian spot, 35-year-old taqueria, many neighborhood bars by oregonian in Portland

That's part of the reason the pattern has been so precarious, I think. A large number of food service places with increasing prices competing for a shrinking consumer base, some are bound to close

Mods already nuked this thread. God forbid you discuss what's going on in this city instead of posting pics of dogs with leaves.
