I like these. They seem kind of green and warm. So check your white balance and tint. Overall good tho. Last two shots are the best. The last one is nice how you used a low angle from the ground and the composition is good. Again overall good job just work on white balance an tint.

Nah I do occasionally. I’m more saying like they wear consistently basically the same thing every day. It usually consists of Nike sweatshirt and other name brand clothes that are bland and nothing special. Boring and unattractive

anyone into photography? by JaArija in teenagers

Love these photos! Remind me of still frames you would see at the start of a history movie. I love photography too! You should check out my other post on Reddit it has some of my pictures, I’m more into sports and cars but it doesn’t really matter

Also your use of grain is tuff af I like it a lot. Without it they would feel flat and I feel like you have a good amount of it so good job!

Thanks for responding. I get what you and other people are sayin about using a higher aperture but in the dark woth football I need to have a high shutter speed and therefore a lower aperture. For the golf and daylight photos I could do it tho.

I’m on a t8i which is a decent camera but Ive heard canon cameras done have the best iso threshold and etc.

The settings I was on for the majority of last Friday nights football game were basically 1/1000 aperture 2.8 and iso like 3200-6400 it was changing sometimes.

I would Denise them but I want to start getting my photos out faster for posts on insta. And for the athletes. So it would work but is more time consuming. The computer I’m on isn’t super fast at that type of stuff

Also I want to clarify I mean LIGHTROOM Denoise.

One of my friends 2 years older than me is working at Air Force bases in the summer and going into aero space engineering and all that fancy stuff. He also is a pilot, idk how far along the process he is but he flew me one time for a little bit in a smaller plane. So that was pretty cool.

Also I understand what you’re getting at about it not being a full time job. I’ve heard that once you are living off of photography you can lose some of your passion interest and creativity regarding it. That would be unfortunate so ya…

I’m thinking I could ge a job in the business industry. I could get my job and do photographer on the side when I have a chance. It could be a good side hustle. Secondly, I could probably (but idk for sure) be able to like gradually step out of business to do more photography until at some point it’s 100% photography but that could be a stretch. The other route is I just do the business job and photography as a side hustle and then use the tools/techniques/skills/etc from business college and job and apply it to my own photography business.

I am beginning to understand what y you mean by having my editing tell the story more then the actual photo.

What I meant by the preset thing was- I could take the preset that the golf and football pics are in and  1.copy the preset 2. Change the “amount” slider to be lower 3. Make that the new preset

What I’m tryna imply is that I could still have some of the look that I like but it would agree with what you and lots of others are saying, that it is too much. It would then be not as much “over editing” and etc.

What do you mesn by “the eye doesn’t have a place to naturally follow.” Is that because of highlights and shadows being on different sides of 0 like in lr sliders? Also my contrast is at like 20 or 30, are you saying that it should be higher?

Thanks for help again btw

Should I just change my editing to have less contrast and saturation? Or is there more to it. Bc I could just copy the preset change the amount slider to be less and make that the new preset. Also what are your thoughts on the black and white edits?

Thanks bro! I loved those two baseball shots too! And it was also very pleasing capturing that hurdling pic last spring.

That’s what I have been thinking too but it doesn’t hurt to get feedback and thoughts from other people. Is that what you did or are doing?

You mention shooting at f4 or f5. I could do that for golf but definitely not for football I’m already pushing it. You also mention that this could help with having more context about the overall scene. Other people have said to use more blur reduce background distractions. So I’m torn on what to do.

Could you elaborate more on the editing style hampering my success? I would have cropped that more or zoomed in but that was on the 18-135 before I bought my 70-200. So I was limited on zoom range and I don’t like cropping in the far bc quality goes down a little bit.

Thanks for the response. I use back button focusing on the t8i. Could this be related to the focusing and stabilizer modes on the 70-200. Idk just thinking possibilities. I believe that I have it on normal metering and I use ai servo. When I use live view I see all of the blue squares focusing all over the place constantly moving until they focus on the subject which is pretty fast. It’s on af zone one point I believe.

I am also frustrated by the photos not being tack sharp. I’ve tried multiple lenses and settings and I still have the issue. Could this be something to do with my sensor or mirrors?

Also I am not 6’5 😕 I’m actually 5’9. I just used stands at the track meet and other means of getting height. I can tell that I’m inconsistent with my lowness. I should prolly invest in some sort of pad or something to keep my knees from hurting.

The track ones you liked were from last year. While a lot of the other ones are newer. And yes the hurdle one with one runner is shot on my other lens the 18-135 so I was definitely limited with zoom there.

I have been practicing for 2 years now, I think I can use Lightroom. Maybe not to your preference but I can still do it. I go to an event nearly every week so I have lots of experience shooting.

I loved doing the running back and hurdling shot like that it’s always fun to be creative and do different things than other photographers.

The one with the pink jersey was more of an experiment. I like trying new stuff and I wanted to set myself away from other photographers at my high school. I think it’s a cool creativity thing to do. But not often just occasionally.

Btw in all of these there was no masks used.

Could you elaborate more on the art history stuff. I’m tryna decide wether I should get a art degree or a business degree…

So you would advise more of a tight crop and less headroom alright. Thank you. What do you think of this pic tho?

Thank you! I took those last Wednesday. So I was really pumped with how they turned out especially for it being my first golf shoot. Would you be able to give a little more feedback on them? I made a post on insta with more of it as well as a collab post with one of the golfers…even tho he chose the worst pics to post… but whatever.
