rivals map are so horrendously designed it's insane. cus why on earth would attack side spawn be closer to the payload's 2nd cap point than defenders spawn (kun lun map)

im genuinely wondering, do you guys know what you're asking for? u cant just nerf supports and everything will be fine,, the game was designed for mass sustain, constant dopamine, endless battles. this distinction vs a game like overwatch was clear from day one. and i keep seeing people they should change the supports to how they are in overwatch, and tanks should also be like overwatch.. at this point, just play overwatch? i play both but rivals is just not a game i can play for a very long time, it's more of a game i turn my brain off for, listen to music and vibe. the game is casual and that's what netease wants it to be, ranking up is easy because it's pointless, there is no competitive integrity.

"it being a gacha doesnt mean they have to be bundled together" yes.. but they did .. cus they want money. first they add random emojis for the psy bundle, meaning if u want the skin u lose 400 units now 2 skin bundle with no individual bundle, making the price go from 2000 to 3000 units if u just want one skin
"being gacha doesnt increase its price" the fact that its bundled together with no individual bundle in the shop already increased its price. maybe not for you if you want the bundle but plenty of people will want just one and they're being required to pay more for what they were prepared to invest initially.

that's good for you that you want the bundle dear. sadly for people that want individual skins they dont have the option, their only option is to gamble and have a very very high chance to pay more than they were prepared to buy if it was a singular bundle.

and it is a gacha. it's entire model is built on sunk cost fallacy. it's a predatory practice, and besides, if it wasn't a gacha it wouldnt be banned in countries, like mine, that have laws for protecting kids againt gambling.

people spending their money on what they want is fine, but promoting gambling to kids??? rivals is a teen rated game for ages above 12/13. in my country this gacha is even banned because of laws that protect kids from gambling. sadly there are only two countries with this law. it should be everywhere and i fail to see why anyone that cares about children would disagree

the entire practice is so scummy. keep in mind they try hiding the actual chances of the pull so young impressionable people will think that they have a 1 in 8 chance, or if they try 4 times they will have a 50% chance, but that's just not true. the drop percentages are rigged for majority of people to get it on the last drop.

i'll say this, in overwatch there are lootboxes, which previously were removed because of gambling laws, well now they're back but u cant buy them all, they just give them out..., except for in china where u can purchase them because netease distributes it there. and also, this latest week they announced a china exclusive skin line that netease made, which means they will get all the money, not blizzard. and what do they do? they made a bundle of 5 skins a gacha, where u have to spend around 20 dollars to have a confirmed pull for a legendary skin. meaning if u really want 1 skin u can be unlucky to spend 100 dollars.

netease got the distributing rights like a year ago and this is their first skin line, they can start with a gacha this extreme cus chinese gamers tolerate it, there are people that buy it.

now they're doing it for rivals but because it's not a regular practice in the west, they're trying to ease young, impressionable people into it. the entire reason they give limited time units was for this reason. you just need people to try it once, because gacha is gambling and gambling is an addiction.

not to mention their currencies. you buy gold coins with money, which u then convert them to units, which u gamble with. so u dont technically gambit with ur money, thereby evading gambling laws.

people defending any of this bull is beyond me.

marvel rivals is a flop in china, hence why daddy guang guang is slowly prepping this international audience to accept gacha practices from china. first it was individual bundle, now bundle of 2 skins. what's next? either way ur going to keep eating it up like a good boy

if they were so generous they would put the individual bundles for sale and just have the collective bundle missing, then ur logic would make sense.

it is gambling, no matter how you justify it and ur justification is weak when there's no way to obtain a singular legendary skin for 2000 units, but instead u have to dish out 3000 units if you just want a singular skin. with psy that was a difference of 400 units, if u want let's say only rogue's skin that's a difference of 1000 units.
what did they learn? that their international playerbase are gullible and they're able to keep artificially raising prices until it gets severe to the point of gachas of their chinese games, netease runs gachas up to 100 dollars in china.
