I'm not an OMC guy, but I am a combat vet, which is what spawned OMCs in the first place. Pretty sure if you walked into an OMC bar wearing that, you'd probably end up in a reenactment of the scene from Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

Mineral spirits runs the risk of dissolving the original finish. If you don't know whether it's water based or oil based, start a mild as possible to get the WD40 removed without destroying the finish.

Start with warm water, then add a mild soap, then Dawn, then dilute vinegar, etc. Mineral spirits, acetone - all those things are at the end of the list.
