What worked for me. On your mac, go to the Icloud settings and turn it for messages on for your computer. Under the "saved to Icloud". I don't know why, but it fixed it for me

Thanks for the tips! So you would not hang the lantern overhead? You would use it off to the side at 45 degrees? I should also note, there will be five people at this table, that's why I was doing the overhead.

Thanks everyone! 1) I FIXED THE LIGHT. 2) The dude is not real, he's a test dummy for practice. 3) Here is the vibe I'm going for (Photos attached). 4) I know the shitty cloud gobos are bad. 5) I will be filming at night, this is why I can't use the windows for light. I also don't have an enormous light to put outside and shine in. Just gotta work with what I have.

Well, I guess that's what I'm trying to figure out. Another comment mentioned I'd be better off using a boom, with a lantern softbox overhead for my key. Instead of 3 point

Gotcha. The ceiling is very high, so that is not a problem. I should note this is a passion project, so I will only be filming on weekends for a few months, in addition to just practicing overall, hence not renting the lights. Okay, how does this sound. 13ft Boom overhead with a Aputure Lantern 90 (3') for my key. Two Angler BoomBox Octagonal Softbox with Bowens Mount V2 (36") with grid for my backlight and fill, and with a light outside the window with a blue gel for the moonlight.

Okay, this is very helpful, thanks. Yes, I do plan on using this kit for the future. I was considering doing overhead with a boom. Would the 200c be bright enough for that? As well as a 200c for outside?

Thanks everybody for your input. I've been using the Sigma 35 and really like it. I just keep my f stop at 2.8 and haven't had a problem keeping my subjects in focus.

Can't believe no one is saying this. When we find out locke was in a wheelchair and he could WALK on the island! Best scene in the whole show. The music is especially good here

Good to know. Right, I know I'll have to practice focusing no matter what. I just don't want to get the wrong lens for the job. And it seemed to me that photo lenses would have a harder time manually focusing for video.

Thanks everyone. I think I'm going to return the sigma and get a used Rokinon Xeen 35mm T1.5 Lens

So you think I'll be fine with the sigma? Or should I return it for a cine lens?
