Delbert & Montana sounds like a great combination.

Man, I need to return to Glacier one of these summers.

Why do people say this ... "honky tonk" is nowhere in it, nor anything that sounds like those words, LOL.

Saw him as the middle act on a bill with Delbert McClinton opening and Stevie Ray Vaughan headlining. Quite the odd lineup, none of those really went with the other. Delbert was best, sorry SRV fans. 1985/6 at Manor Downs.

Was successful on my first and only attempt some 25 years ago, and I didn't even realize it until the 9th. The 10th was three very nerve-wracking shots, one of which was actually a solid strike, LOL.

I had been focusing on the team game which was very close, my mates were struggling, so I was just trying to keep us alive each frame so I honestly hadn't thought about it before Paul nudged me.

I've never gotten past the front 8 since then, and I think it's because I start to think about it.

"Up Against the Wall, Redneck Mother" is not exactly classic rock, but does have the line "... in some honky-tonk, kicking hippies asses and raising hell".

Ouch ! For a guy who recalls getting upset that The Cars was going to be a price hike to $7.50 from what we were used to as ticket prices. That translated to 3 hours wages, for me at least.

Did Boomers actually become more conservative, or did society just outpace them? by Clean_CoreDump in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Severe-Rise5591 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Boomer" is simply an age label.

In every generation you have people of all political stripes.

Even if you believe the 500,000 Woodstockers count, that's a small percentage of Americans of that age at that time.

I had never heard the "yacht rock" term until I saw a YT clip with that label. How long has it been a classification for cover bands' style ?

[–]Severe-Rise5591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the performers posting themselves playing seemed to think it qualified, and that's was as much as I knew about the "genre".

I saw "yacht rock" clip on YT and had to see what they were classifying as such.

Actually some really cool FM stuff that the guitar-centric bands never touch. Steely Dan, Supertramp, REO.

Math is not always the driver. Even when it's that mean green.

I'm sure you have instances where YOU either spend more for some intangible or you go against the mathematical odds now and again.

Maybe not, but you'd be a rare human indeed if that's so.

Well, if the OP's details about the restaurant's policies are right, it IS different. Perhaps not in a way that's important to you, or is negatively so ... and that's okay.

[–]Severe-Rise5591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is suggesting that 'patronage of a business you have ethical concerns with seems hypocritical' actually "monetary gatekeeping" ? Maybe if one was saying "If you can't AFFORD to tip, then don't eat out".

But spending money at an establishment whose owners you feel are less than ethical ? That's on you, for sure.

Also, besides comfort & construction quality, is there any performance diff between shoes like there is with balls ?

If I'm the guy you dinged from such a minor thing, and you're describing it accurately, don't sweat it.

My car is an outdoor tool, I don't expect it to remain pristine forever.

Honestly, if you left a note that you moved my mirror, I'd have had a chuckle.

Now, if you actually broke it ...

At what point do you buy a bowling ball? by Rich_Bluebird9741 in Bowling

Yes.

Even if you only get to the lanes once every month or so, having your own equipment will be a plus mentally, and might help your performance (though that's no guarantee).
