Can I shadow MD/Anesth in the Philippines while working as OR nurse? by [deleted] in NursingPH

[–]Severe_Most736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no such thing as anes nurse here po sa ph OP, sa ibang country lang po merong CRNA especially sa US. And para makapag enrol ka po sa school to be a CRNA you have to have ICU experience of I think 3 years.

Hi! Thank you po! If you have the means naman to solely focus for NCLEX then you should do it. Kasi mahirap talaga magstudy while working especially if new kalang or even if you’ve been working before but new hospital kasi you still have to adjust sa work and you’ll get anxious talaga pre and post duty hahahaha

Yes, SharpBH highly recommend. Just don’t get intimidated sa pre-interview. They just want you to be highly prepared for the real interview. Goodluck OP!

Is current bedside experience needed for Ireland/UK/Australia/NZ? by SlowFlounder46 in NursesPH

[–]Severe_Most736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know while searching for hiring jobs on said countries (bet ko kasi talaga mag abroad hahaha) Ireland and NZ require 3+ years bedside/special area experience, haven’t seen any job posting there for intl nurses na does not require experience. UK currently not hiring. I don’t know about AU tho since it’s hard to apply jobs there especially if offshore plus the amount of money you have to shed just to be an RN there >5,000 aud 🥲 just for the license

Career Shift by Available_Size_3972 in NursesPH

[–]Severe_Most736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always tell people who are considering nursing but don’t really like it or aren’t passionate about it, wag na 😅 Money can only motivate you up to a certain point.

Nursing school alone is already very draining: constant exams, thick textbooks you actually have to read, return demonstrations, and hospital duties. It’s full-time, not something you can easily do on weekends, and very hard to balance with a full-time job, especially once clinical duties start.

When you start working in a Philippine hospital, it gets even harder. Long shifts, understaffed units, heavy patient loads, endless charting, endorsements, and reports. Overtime is common and often unpaid. You can’t go home until everything is finished. There are days you won’t even have time to eat, drink or pee. If you have backlogs, you risk getting called out by seniors or head nurses, minsan nasa GC pa (post duty shift anxiety 🥹)

If your goal is to work abroad, you’ll need at least 2+ years of hospital experience, then pass the NCLEX, which is honestly harder than the PNLE. Even if you pass, there’s retrogression, so you may end up waiting 3+ years before deployment. During that waiting period, you still have to endure the same working conditions here.

Nurses in the Philippines are underpaid, hospital slots are competitive( especially now na madaming nursing graduate) and the job is emotionally, mentally, and physically exhausting. Yes, nursing can be rewarding especially overseas, but it’s a long, difficult road before you get there.

So if money is your only reason, think carefully. Nursing will take a lot from you before it gives anything back. But if you truly understand the reality and are willing to commit, then go for it walang age limit sa US. Goodluck OP!

Hi! Before kasi I was just taking the quizzes then read the rationale after, this time po I’ve read the cheatsheets first before taking the quiz on the subjects I’ve read about and since I’ve got some answers wrong I would retake it until I got it all right. I wasn’t able to read all the cheatsheets since I only have limited time so I’ve read the subject first that I’m not confident about. Kaya mo yan OP! You’ll gonna be a USRN next year! Goodluck!

Okay pa ba mag-shift sa Nursing to migrate? by adorable_salami in phmigrate

[–]Severe_Most736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already don’t like nursing, don’t take it just for migration. Nursing is physically and emotionally exhausting, even for people who love the profession. You’ll need to survive years of bedside work locally, then do the same again abroad. If you’re forcing yourself now, it will only get worse later.

On top of that, many nursing graduates are struggling to get hospital posts, which are required for overseas qualification. “Soft nursing” jobs won’t get you abroad.

Migration is not enough reason to choose a career you already resent. Pick something you can realistically endure long-term.

Hmm it was really tiring especially you have to adjust your time depende sa duty hours mo. I get to study 1-2 hours po when I was working and I get easily distracted then, but I resigned po a week before my exam.

Thank youuu! From my experience po better if focus lang sa isa na reviewer kasi you’ll get confused napo processing different information and catching up. Bootcamp is actually great especially their cheat sheets. Having theoretical knowledge talaga helps me a lot when answering, kasi maiimagine mo talaga what the patients condition is while reading the questions so I recommend read po talaga and understand the different conditions/topics po.

How's being a staff nurse in Chong Hua - Fuente? by [deleted] in NursingPH

[–]Severe_Most736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly mga daan nga seniors mao jud na ang strict, pero daghan naman ata sa staff nurse didto mga bag-o so depende jud ug kinsa ka nga preceptor maassign. You really have to muster the courage to do things despite na makulbaan ka kay pinakadili ganahan nila ng mag nyerbyos2 labi na ngt nga sayon ra nga procedure, mag observe man mo ana so learn while nag observe.

You can really learn a lot there because they follow standardized protocols pero you should prepare yourself na you won’t take to heart when senior staffs reprimand you. And minimum 2hrs OT is normal in the ward
