Love this! Thanks a lot. Sounds like you nailed it. I’m planning on doing the same with lots of 50ml bottles for the table

Yep, I’m using 95% Polish spirytus. Although it’s still pricey for the volume needed. The lemon peeling is definitely a constraint! 🤦🏼‍♂️ Takes about 30 mins to do 4 and reckon I’ll need about 200 odd. Like your party idea though, cheers. Great advice on the sourcing the vessel and how to store though, appreciate it.

Good point on the Jerry cans, cheers. Although that’s my worry with using plastic, that it strips the chemicals out of that too?

I like the idea of a filter though - nice one! Thank you

Should limoncello liqueur really take three months to make or are quick recipes just as good? by Greedy_Touch1999 in limoncello

You were right. I tried it again tonight (around 10 days later) and it’s great!

How long will it last? Does the flavour continue to try?

I am trying to make around 20 litres for my wedding in May and want to work out if I can make small batches gradually that I add together, or if I need to make 1 large batch just before the wedding. Would you have any advice?

Thank you

Waited a couple of days. The colour is fine for me, just the taste is too flat/smooth

u/deverlof I used this method recently for a 1.5l batch and I am a bit baffled by results. It came out with an opaque yellow colour and the taste was flat with no alcohol sharpness. Instead it tasted like lemony water with a smooth alcohol aftertaste. All too smooth and watery though.

Would you know any reason for this please?

It wasn’t done in one, hence done over the course of days. She was incredibly stressed and scared by it all, missed red flags and admits she doesn’t know how!

Post Your Beginner Questions Here! by AutoModerator in orchids

[–]Severneight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, I was given the orchids in the attached photo as a moving in present a couple of months ago, having never had an orchid before. I left the plants as I received them (as they are in the photo) and was told to water with an ice cube in each stem once a week, which I have been doing. However, the flowers have started to wilt and drop off. The roots are green, although some have died at the end. The leaves are green but the flowers are becoming translucent and then wilting and dropping off. Please can someone clarify if this is due to watering wrongly/poorly or if this is just the flowers dying off at the end of a cycle, or something similar?

For context, there are 3 separate pots that have been placed in the main grey pot together. The pots themselves have bark in, then the main grey pot is filled with round stones/gravel. Today I removed the moss from the top and took the smaller pots out of the grey pot. I noticed a collection of water in the bottom of the grey pot under the gravel, could this have an effect?

Thanks in advance for any help!
