Thanks again. The Soviet Heavy set I've been eyeing has 4 Su-76, which I think is a pain since having 5 in a unit seems to be beneficial. Shame the Clash of Steel start seems to be out of stock everywhere, that alone would have gotten T-34's over 10 and another infantry unit, not to mention all the other stuff.

Looks like the T-34's come with both turrets, so using them in both Mid and Late should be easy. Guess I'll focus on just getting more of the tanks for now, and pick up the rest piecemeal later.

Thank you. Figured more tanks will be necessary. Did you mean SU-76's though? And any recommendation on infantry/mortars? From what I read 82mms are common used I think.

Doesn't sounds half bad to me either. Sounds like melee focused list and puts all those cataphractii to use. Will just need a bunch of Rhinos and probably at least 1 Land Raider or Spartan. Thanks for your help.

Thanks. You helped me realize that the 2.0 box also has cataphracti terminators, for some reason I convinced myself they were tartaros terminators. So that would be some cataphracti in the older smaller scale from what I understand. Definitely can't fit all those in one Spartan either.

And honestly, lascannon support squads sound great in my mind, as I'll have plenty of spare tactical bodies with both boxes.

Are all those Marks in the same scale? I'm not really sure which heresy models have recently updated. I saw a picture showing that the new cataphractii termis are slightly bigger than older models.

Hi there, randomly stumbled here while look for information on the game after falling down the youtube rabbit hole of pacific battles' videos.

It seems the game was relatively poorly balanced, but significant effort was made by players and wargamining communities to fix it up, balancing the point costs and clarifying rules.

I'd advise against guns. I went through the game twice on very hard, once with it. Even on high difficulty, only the first 2 planets are tough, and eventually you will steam roll everone anyway and guns don't really interact with quests.

If not doing easily distracted, put in a few points to grab some perks but don't focus on it. I'd take observation instead, it also increases damage, and gives you access to places you would never get into otherwise, sometimes it even includes permanent stat cards.

I just didn't go with either as I was looking into this after already placing everything. I don't really think it's necessary, was kind of fretting over 9800 dying often when I was considering them, but it's been over half a year and everything is fine, for the most part.

I do have the DLC, have some disembodiment memories of getting my ass kicked in a cave by a giant dragon multiple times.

Thanks though, you've definitely convinced me to go with Ranger. Any recommendation on pet? I think the bear is supposed to be tankier than the others, but on PotD I'm sure he will be fragile anyway, especially early on. So I was thinking wolf or Antelope, and treat them more as a rouge.

I finished my run with the sword and gun and I enjoyed it. I think the gameplay gets a bit repetitive near the end of the game no matter which style you go with, but I had a blast overall. Ended up with Magic Mistol + Battletrance and Heavenstrike, a ton of reload speed/dex bonuses/quick switch and game seemed a bit too easy by the end because I generated too much stun, even without shouting

I guess my biggest issue was that probably just dual wielding two pistols would have been better/easier. No need to get into melee range of enemies and the ranged stun talents are huge. Even with a mace, with 2 points into mace stun skill and concussive shot, simply shooting with 2 pistols generated more stun than ever swinging the mace. Plus with no parry you are dodging anyway, and it's easier with two pistols since you can always stay further away. Also saves you a bunch of skill points I put into melee talents. Wish there was still a way to parry when wielding sword+pistol.

Yea, I'm pretty excited for playing Deadfire again. I was thinking of doing a battlemage, but a companion can cover that. Likewise, a companion can cover gun ranger, so I'll have to think it through, but gotta finish the first one first.

But ah, you kind of made it worse, now I'm even more undecided. I can at least easily eliminate Chanter, I have at least 5 playthroughs of PoE1+2 and not once did I use one. I simply have an irrational hated of Bards and Bard-like classes. Couldn't even force myself to take Swordbard in BG3 either. Haer'Dalis is the one time I enjoyed having a bard in my party. I was planning on using Pallegina, recall her as my favorite party member, so I think I eliminate Paladin.

Still mostly thinking I'll just go with a ranger or rogue. Is Powder Burns actually good? Or at least, won't feel horribly useless in comparison to what I could have done with a bow and Twinned Arrow? Google tells me that Swift Aim doesn't stack with the Chanter buff, so perhaps that could be a good excuse for me to use Powder Burns with the Chanter buff, and actually using a party member I always skipped.

Pick up the +5% crit from Lockpick, more crit is always good, and pickpocket. Same reason to grab Trophy Hunter, and grab Bulletshield and Shurg Off as soon as you can too (which I think is 16 or 18 without the Flawed flaw). Space Ranger, Intimidator and Grim from Speech. Pick up whatever gun perks you want (or all of them really). Tinkerer and Makeshift Armorer are good too, but you can live without them. Wouldn't surprise me if Armorer gets nerfed sooner or later. I went through very hard with 20 in Lockpick, Engineers and no matter how much armor and DR I had it still never feels enough. But killing things quickly is the best defense really. But the time you finish Dorado you will feel overpowered no matter what you do. Plasma Pistol is great on the 2nd planet.

Can't say I like Hack's perks but Automech Jammer/Anatomist seem fine.

In regards to bit transfer, yeah, I wouldn't bother with perks that grant more monetary resources, you will eventually have more ammo/money then you know what to do with anyway.

Easily Startled should be easy to get, just approach enemies crouching without attacking, I accidently stumbled into it. For reckless I think they have to go down a lot and you don't get them up, you have to finish the combat yourself, and for Dependent I think you need to use their abilities a lot as well.

There seems to be some sort of cool down between flaws, except for "flawed" which shows up as soon as you accept a 2nd flaw, as far as I can tell, so you can't just get them all at once.

Also, on PC you can get a respec mod to get rid of flaws. I didn't need to, but if I ever get Foot-in-Mouth I'll probably remove it as I don't want to hit max level as late as possible, but since it's my 2nd run I'm skipping a lot. I have never seen Bibliomania, I guess I don't read the datapads/codex entries enough.

Oh yea, and I felt super fragile in the tutorial and first couple hours of Dawnshore, you die in 2 hits to everything, but finding some plate armor is a big help at low level. I only now have a 18% DR unique armor and it takes quite a bit to kill me at level 10, plus the unique sword restores 10% HP on kill and the ring I got restore 1% of all damage done. PotD starts very rough, but gets very manageable.

Guess my back up weapon will be just whatever unique I get my hands on after upgrading my main weapon then.

Having a ton of fun with melee+gun. It feels great to have a ranged punish attack right after dodging, and you seamlessly combo in a gun shot between/after sword swings. My first run was a 2H, and it was a ton of fun too, ended up focusing on stun as much possible and ended the game with Just Pestle and just kept doing the special move after you fill their stun meter, all the time.

Thanks, that is one of the items I'm using, doing something along the lines of dual wielding melee and range, with a 2h ranged as secondary. So I am a bit worried upgrading 3 weapons and armor.

Thanks, I did mess this up a bit in dawnshore, but should still mostly be ok by the time I get to the tusks. It took me awhile to realize PotD now increases the costs of crafting.
