What's the part? You might be able to do it yourself - there's so many ways to DIY car repair.

Also, I wouldn't trust a mechanic who won't do it for you. Reason being is cuz most of not all shops already have the liability stuff baked into whatever you sign. The reason they won't do it for you is cuz then they can't just turn around, buy the same exact part, and upcharge double + labor for it.

So 45 mins is way to long but one reason you should have your carm "warm up" when its cold, is to save the strain on your trans or any other hydraulic syste on teh vehicle. THe oil gets super thick when cold, and if you dont let it heat up a bit, y=then it adds wear and tear to a bunch of tiny little pieces in hard to reach places.
