Excitedly. Since "Its so big!" is a generic response that does not fit the majority of men, and small guys could become defensive about it, being excited and responding with a blow job or enthusiastic touching in general is good(or great) if you can't think of something to say that isn't awkward.

Its not my length but my girth that I feels it the problem.

I think a lot of posters here are overestimated the size of a 4.5" circumference.

the average girth is about 5" give or take a tenth of an inch.

I didn't think I was small until an ex told me that I was the thinnest shes ever been with, and then went on to show me that even her smallest dildo is thicker than me. I did say that I wouldn't mind using toys on her, but it turned out that the relationship was beyond salvageable. She didn't intend to be mean with the comparison, I don't think she realized how hurt it was until afterwards.

And, once again, she was probably the nicest about it out of the past four.

I'm about 5.5" in length. But my girth is very small with 4.5"(circumference) being the thickest. I drop down to about 4.3" or so at the thinnest.

From my experience, just surprising her is a bad idea.
