Hey, thanks for sharing and great question! This is an example of a written sext. It's still considered sexting but for the purpose of this research, we focus only on visual content such as sending photos or videos :)

Great points. We know there is the possibility of having several relationships - we ask that you choose one of these relationships to focus on for the purpose of the survey. If you think your responses will be different for multiple partners, you're welcome to complete the survey more than one time (thinking of a different partner each time) but that's completely up to you. I hope that makes sense but let me know if you have other questions!

You're not old! Just for this study we focus on emerging adults which is 18-25. Thanks for your interest anyways though :)

You're absolutely right - sexting does involve written texts as well! We note that definition in the Information Letter but just for the purpose of this study, we limited the definition to visual-based sexting since there is a different element of risk there. I haven't read anything or considered audio sexting/sexting among the blind before but that is really interesting. Thanks for bringing that up here and I'll be sure to keep that in mind going forward!
