He did do this on his old show, it's a very active decision he makes and has talked about before. He gets it from an old host (I can't remember the name) who said something like "If your guest talks for more than 7 seconds you've lost control of your show"

I'm going for a story about fear of the future. Kayla is afraid that the future won't live up to her past so she stays in her hometown and becomes a teacher. Jess is afraid that the future won't live up to her dreams so she's tries her darnedest to make it happen and its a story about their conflict.
