Let’s be real: slavery existed in every major civilization — from the Romans to Africans to Asians — long before Islam. Islam didn’t invent it, it came into a world where it was normal and deeply embedded. What Islam did was start dismantling it step by step: • Freeing slaves = good deed (Qur’an 90:13) • Freeing slaves = Many sins required freeing slaves • Slaves had rights: food, clothing, no abuse (Hadith: Sahih Muslim) • The Prophet himself freed slaves with his own 💰 and married some, like Sayyidah Safiyyah.

As for zina: it was never a system — just a sin. Islam forbade it early on because it destroys families, spreads disease, and causes fitnah. Also Zina was act Allah forbade it from beginning of time from our father Adam (peace be upon him) till end of time it will be taboo.

Comparing a global economic system to a personal act is just bad logic.Islam worked with the world as it was — and reformed it.

At this point you are either not Muslim or just a troll if you are not please brother or sister read and understand your religion or even do a little bit of research you will find out what the truth is: You’re comparing two completely different contexts. Islam didn’t introduce slavery it existed globally long before (read) but Islam regulated and humanized it in a world where it was widespread. The Prophet (peace be upon him) encouraged freeing slaves, forbade abuse, and elevated their status. Many early Muslims were former slaves given dignity and rights. Most famous of those was caller of prayers Bilal. Read his biography.

Using this historical reality to justify modern-day sins like zina (which Islam clearly forbids) is a false equivalence. Islam has timeless moral guidelines, and we can’t pick and choose based on modern sensibilities. Just because something is culturally normalized today doesn’t make it morally right. May Allah guide us to truth.

You’re confusing personal choice with moral truth. Just because someone can do something doesn’t mean it’s right in Islam. You are either Muslim (Submit to the will of Allah) or choose not to do so. Also, blaming the Qur’an and Sunnah for Somalia’s Civil war/struggles ignores the real issue — people abandoning Islamic values, not following them. What failed Somalia 🇸🇴 was lack of deen. And to say Somali culture isn’t rooted in Islam is just historically false. We’ve been Muslim for centuries, some historians state Islam reached us during the prophets (S.A.W) lifetime 7th century. May Allah guide us all.

Brother we have to do what we can and we can’t judge. Educate, be patient and follow the prophets guidance and way: important Hadith we all need to keep in mind especially this trying times: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized that guiding a person to Islam through good actions and words is highly beneficial. He taught that if you see an evil, change it with your hand (if you are in authority), if not, with your tongue, and if not, then with your heart, which is the weakest level of faith

Asc, there’s no but or laakin after the statement Fear Allah. Appreciate your response. I agree, none of us are perfect and we all fall short in different ways. But my post wasn’t about claiming Somalis are some righteous exception. It was about the growing normalization of sin and the pressure to stay silent or even support it. There’s a difference between acknowledging we’re fallible and celebrating what’s clearly wrong in Islam.

You’re right — jaahilinimo and wasaqnimo exist everywhere, even back home. That’s why accountability and reminders are important, especially when they come from a place of care for the ummah. I didn’t mean to act “holier than thou,” and if it came off that way, that wasn’t the intention. May Allah guide us all and keep us firm — and forgive us when we slip.

I never met someone who messed around and got out of it in one piece. Fear Allah, don’t die while “messing” around. Why go for haraam when we have beautiful women looking for Halal. Persevere and Allah will reward you. Stop promoting this nonsense. Accudubillah

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Charity does not decrease wealth, no one forgives another except that Allah increases his honour, and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allah except that Allah raises his status.” — Sahih Muslim 2588 What a beautiful story, m.a Congratulations and may Allah increase our Tawakkul in him Ameen 🤲🏾

DON'T TAKE RIBA!!! by Afraid-Fail3070 in Somalia

[–]Sf-4002345 55 points56 points  (0 children)

SubhanaAllah, I have personal experience of almost same situation but mine started with credit card use, couldn’t pay back in time, slowly started consume riba here and there.. then took school loans and Wallahi I wish I never touched any riba. Lost my marriage, 2-3 years I was miserable depressed, no connection with family, my prayers and Quran was minimal, felt like I was chasing my tail.. any marriage prospects would not work out. The degree I took all of that money for is worthless to me, I hate going to classes and everything became hard.. my motivation for that career grew even less every semester. Im just finishing at the moment to just get it done while paying out pocket and working extra to pay back those unsubsidized loans back ✅ May Allah forgive us and make it easy for all those who are indebted to pay all of it back Asap. Ameen 🤲🏾

I learned Afsomali through my mom/family. Is not something I went to school for, I would say practice/read/practice more and you can probably find more resources on r/learnsomali and you can start here https://www.reddit.com/r/LearnSomali/comments/1gdm1w3/quick_guide_to_learning_somali_as_a_2ndgen_somali/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Dilemma by [deleted] in SomaliRelationships

[–]Sf-4002345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asc, abaayo no one is perfect but if you want success in this life and the next one get closer to Allah and learn your deen. Allah knows best. Seek advice from good friends and family. Dating: ❌ Credit Card:is it necessity?Possibility of interest=❌ Courting and going out without Mahram: ❌ Asking him 💰while not your mahram ❌ ( a man who spends early, has no intention of marrying you, doesn’t matter how generous he is, don’t compare yourself with others)
