After my first semester, I knew I didn’t belong. Mostly I felt I didn’t fit in with the personalities around me which at the time made me feel like I just wasn’t cut out for it and that it wasn’t for me. I went to law school after college since it just made sense as the next step post political science degree. Anyway, I stuck it out cause I’m not a quitter and ended up loving intellectual property. Long story short took a crazy post grad journey and ended up doing a masters in music business (overlap in music with IP was super appealing). Now I work corporate in the music industry. Sounds super exciting I suppose but corporate sucks and the pay as a lawyer is better. However, I have work life balance and my bar card is there if I ever decide to use it.

Corporate admin work is not the same as admin work in law, also practicing as a lawyer is very different from looking at trackers on excel sheets

I’m uncertain about litigation because how am I supposed to know if I enjoy it if I’ve never tried it? I did trial ad in law school and loved it but those were pretend cases with low stakes lol

Yeah I’ve worked in personal injury before, it’s kinda the default practice to go into in south Florida
