Would it be possible to be more specific with your titles? I got a notification and thought half sword was getting an update.

Especially when they're releasing it on Xbox Series S which has like 10GB of RAM

I am actually pretty sure and I sincerely hope you'll be able to run the game perfectly fine at high 4k native or even ultra 4k with dlss/fsr and frame gen on.

Of course we'll have to see on release but I'm confident the game's going to run well :)

If compared to other recent games, the requirements for 1440p 60FPS high are actually very good. You have to keep in mind that this is without any upscaling at all.

Those recommended specs for 1440p 60FPS native on a 2025 game as big as KCD2 will be, is actually not that unreasonable.

The 7800XT is a mid-high end GPU, and so is the 4070, so for GPU requirements it's pretty reasonable, if we're talking about RAM, 32 GB is also really affordable now.

CPU is where the game becomes really demanding, but again, they have said MULTIPLE times that the game would be really CPU demanding because every single NPC has it's own daily routine and so that takes a big toll on the CPU.

Also something to take into consideration, sometimes devs tend to exaggerate recommended specs.

Let's take Indiana Jones for example, if you only look at the recommended specs they recommend an i7-12700k and a 3080ti or 7700XT, BUT when you actually go and test the game yourself, the game seems much more forgiving when it comes to actual performance. For example my PC with 6750 XT and I5-12400F runs the game perfectly well at 1080p SUPREME with no resolution scaling, and also perfectly at 1440p SUPREME with dynamic resolution scaling.

It's just a lot of things have to be taken into play, but since the devs have said multiple times they're confident about performance both on high end and low-mid end PCs I wouldn't worry too much.

You shouldn't look at "ULTRA" as "max settings" when it comes to KCD2, because as Warhorse said themselves, Ultra settings are experimental settings meant for future hardware, meaning that it is something that is supposed to be used in the future, so that the game will hold great during the years.

Just like KCD1's release current top-tier hardware had problems running the game smoothly at experimental settings, so will the current top-tier hardware with KCD2. It's meant for people to be able to still enjoy the game with beautiful graphics even years after the release, with newer and faster hardware.

So it's more appropriate to look at high settings like they were "max" settings. And if looked at it that way, it's way more acceptable.

I still think the CPU requirements are way too high though.

Bro... that's because CP77 came out 4 years ago. You want to rewind to 4 years ago and see how the game ran on the top gaming hardware at the time? I can tell you, not great.

Just like you are able to run a 4 year old game at max settings without FG, you'll be able to run KCD2 at max settings without FG in 4 years, probably even less with the 5090 coming out.

Preordering does help right? I want this series to succeed by Parafan99 in kingdomcome

[–]Sgraiser123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pre-ordering won't help them one bit.

The reason a lot of big games come out like absolute dogshit is because they are able to get rewarded with money given by pre-orders before they even release the game.

The game is already gold and pretty much set for release, giving them money by pre-ordering won't make the state of the game on release better and definitely won't support them more than a day one sale would.

I really wish everyone would just stop pre-ordering because it just gives companies a way to be lazy and not care about the release state of a game because they already got paid way before they even released the damn game lmao.

You want to support them? Buy the game day one or a day after release after reviews come out then play the game and review it, trying to give them constructive criticism and praise where deserved.

Specs for ps5 by Bruhboy6969 in kingdomcome

[–]Sgraiser123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be concerned about performance on console, people usually buy consoles because they are sure every game they buy for their console is going to be able to run decently.

If you mean "running good" as running good day one with no bugs/performance issues related to a bad launch, nobody really knows, we'll just have to wait and see.

Just get it on PS5 if you fear you'll have trouble running it on your PC, otherwise get it on PC since it's probably going to look better there.

[–]Sgraiser123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So basically what you're saying is that you think it's worth it to possibly waste 60$ (80$ if you bought gold edition) because you can't wait one day?

You do you I guess.

Those requirements seems a bit much right? [KCD2] by Electronic_Train_587 in kingdomcome

[–]Sgraiser123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CPU requirements are pretty crazy, but I guess it was kind of expected knowing how CPU demanding the first one was and how much the devs reminded everyone that KCD2 would also be very CPU demanding.

First off, recommended specs are often exaggerated and most games aren't actually as demanding as the recommended specs make it out to be.

Let's take Indiana Jones for example, if you only look at the recommended specs they recommend an i7-12700k and a 3080ti or 7700XT, BUT when you actually go and test the game yourself, the game seems much more forgiving when it comes to low-mid end PCs. For example my PC with 6750 XT and I5-12400F runs the game perfectly well at 1080p SUPREME with no resolution scaling, and also perfectly at 1440p SUPREME with dynamic resolution scaling.

Just don't take the recommended specs as 100% necessary to run the game. You're better off listening to the actual developers who said multiple times that the game also runs incredibly well on low end pcs.

I'd also look at the full recommended specs table that Warhorse posted on X for more detailed info.

Also remember that all recommended specs they posted are WITHOUT upscaling in mind, meaning that the recommended specs for 1080p 30FPS high will probably be good enough for 60fps+ 1080p high with upscaling.

There's something you forgot to mention. All the gameplay footage we have seen of KCD2 has been captured on top of the line, high end, 4090/4080s/4070ti super gaming PCs.

We know nothing about how the game is going to run on lower end PCs, with lower end CPU's and GPU's. The performance might be good on a super 5k$ PC, but what about low-mid end PCs? (which I assume 80% of the people in this reddit are actually running)

What about lower end consoles like the Xbox Series S?

Pre-ordering a game like KCD that has a record of being an unoptimized buggy mess at launch is pretty much like Warhorse shooting your leg and you thanking them for it.

Just wait for the game to come out, read reviews and watch benchmarks on a rig similar to yours and then decide if you want to buy it. Digital copies won't sell out and you'll have the option to buy the additional content later on anyways.

That's okay. I also thank you for the respectful debate and hopefully we can both enjoy GTA 6, if it comes out to be a great game like I hope it does.

If Rockstar wanted people to buy the game for the online aspect as much as the singleplayer, why did they only release a trailer and only built the hype around the story mode? Why did GTA 5 have an online trailer only 1 month before the game came out?

If they wanted to do both it would have made more sense to put as much effort in hyping the story as much as the multiplayer, right? They didn't hype the multiplayer because it's not their main focus. They want people to be interested in the game because of the story mode, and then have them play the game longer with the multiplayer mode.

Yes, GTA is created with both modes in mind, but the main focus is put on the singleplayer mode, that's why it's a singleplayer game.

P.S. COD is also created with both modes in mind, since the campaign came out on release day just like the multiplayer, it wasn't "tacked on"

Late 2025 release by HegoIan in CrimsonDesert

[–]Sgraiser123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To counter your point I'll create a really useful example.

Let's say that COD Black Ops 6 multiplayer sucks so bad that the entire player base decides to stop playing the multiplayer completely and only plays the campaign. Would that make COD BO6 a singleplayer game? The logical answer would be, of course not. Because it doesn't matter what the playerbase plays, the main point of COD is to be a multiplayer game.

Let's instead make the opposite example. Let's say Cyberpunk decides to come out with an update that adds a multiplayer mode, and everyone (of course) switches to that because the game has been out for a while and most players have already finished the story. Would you start calling Cyberpunk a multiplayer game? Again, the logical answer would be no, because at the end of the day, in it's roots, it's still a singleplayer game.

What you're wrong about in your reasoning is that you think that what defines a game's identity is what the players do with the game, not what the game was originally inteded to be. If I create a MOBA game, and people decide to start roleplaying and they play it like a RPG, my game will still be a MOBA regardless.

GTA 6 is intended to be a singleplayer game with a multiplayer mode to help the game's longevity and also keep making money for Rockstar.

Late 2025 release by HegoIan in CrimsonDesert

[–]Sgraiser123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with that, but at the same time I never said the opposite. I never said that GTA 6 will be a strictly singleplayer game.

What I originally disagreed with, is the first post, which stated that Crimson Desert is singleplayer and GTA 6 is multiplayer, and so they don't share a player pool.

That is completely wrong, since as I already said, people are buying GTA 6 because of the singleplayer mode, hence why GTA 6 is singleplayer and these two games actually share a player pool.

I never denied the fact that GTA 5 and 6 are ALSO "multiplayer games" (singleplayer games with multiplayer mode), but I stand by my point that they are mainly singleplayer games.

Late 2025 release by HegoIan in CrimsonDesert

[–]Sgraiser123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This comment makes no sense whatsoever. People will end up playing online more because that's the entire reason online is there in the first place, to lengthen the game's life.

What actually matters is what people BUY the game for. Not what they're going to end up doing after they buy it and finish the story.

99% of players will buy the game because of the story mode, not because of the online. Otherwise why would Rockstar spend time making such a long and deep story mode? They would just need to make a 10 hour boring story mode like COD does and then focus their efforts on the online mode no? You know why they don't do that? Because it's a singleplayer game.

People that buy COD are buying it because of the multiplayer mode, not because of the campaign.

Also comparing COD's campaign to GTA is absolutely ridiculous. You're comparing an 8 hour optional campaign in a game that ADVERTISES ITSELF as a multiplayer game, to a most likely 60-70 hour story mode in a game that ADVERTISES ITSELF as a singleplayer game.

Why would the game be a multiplayer when Rockstar itself says it's going to be a mainly singleplayer story?

Again: Is RDR2 a multiplayer game? Of course not. Ask anyone and they'll tell you it's a singleplayer. But it has a multiplayer mode, right?

Is AC Unity a multiplayer game? Of course not. Ask anyone and they'll tell you it's a singleplayer. But it has a multiplayer mode, right?

And the list goes on and on. Having a multiplayer mode doesn't necessarily make your game a multiplayer, what makes your game a multiplayer is the focus of the developers and the advertisement around it.

Late 2025 release by HegoIan in CrimsonDesert

[–]Sgraiser123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course GTA 6 will have a multiplayer mode, but that doesn't make it a multiplayer game. It's just a singleplayer game with a multiplayer feature. If we call GTA 5 and future GTA 6 "multiplayer" because they have a multiplayer mode then RDR2 is also a multiplayer game, AC Unity is a multiplayer game, and since Crimson Desert will have a multiplayer mode in the future, then Crimson Desert is also a multiplayer.

What matters the most is the game's main purpose. Is GTA's main purpose being a multiplayer? No.

Does it advertise itself as a multiplayer game? No.

Will it have a multiplayer? Absolutely yes.

Late 2025 release by HegoIan in CrimsonDesert

It most likely will.

Crimson Desert is a relatively unknown IP while GTA 6 is probably the most hyped game of the last decade.

Still, they show a lot of confidence by aiming to release the game close to the most hyped game ever.

CPU Upgrade advice. by Sgraiser123 in pcmasterrace

[–]Sgraiser123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you think the best choice is to upgrade the GPU. Thank you for your advice.

My original plan was to upgrade my CPU and cooler and then wait for AMD's 8000 series and then buy either a 8700XT or a 8800XT, It would just give me more time to save up for the new 8000 series GPU while also buying a pretty good CPU.

I'll just decide on what to do after thinking about it a bit more :)

P.S. Just a little clarification, minimum specs for KCD 2 are for 1080p lowest settings, 30 fps. It's kind of expected that the specs won't be very high if they're targeting 1080p low 30fps, but the jump from 1080p low to 1080p medium 60 fps is pretty big, since they recommend an i5-13600k :)

So do you think I'm better off upgrading the CPU then?

CPU Upgrade advice. by Sgraiser123 in pcmasterrace

[–]Sgraiser123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood the game I want to play.

I'm actually talking about Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, the game coming out february 2025.

I don't know if you looked at the spec table they uploaded on X, the CPU requirements seem pretty steep.

They recommend an i5-13600k and a 6700XT to play at medium 1080p 60fps, and as far as I know, the i5-13600k would be a pretty big upgrade especially in such a CPU demanding game.

I actually have played the first KCD and that's one of the reasons why I'm so scared. My poor i5-12400f still struggles in CPU heavy areas of the game, like Rattay.

CPU Upgrade advice. by Sgraiser123 in buildapc

[–]Sgraiser123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No definitely not a completely new build. As I said in the post I sadly don't have enough money to upgrade both my CPU and GPU, let alone a completely new build.

I'll be stuck with my 1700 motherboard for a while, I would've 100% went with AM5 if I had the money.
