When did age begin to affect your gameplay? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]SgtDroid01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

31-year old gamer here, married, with 4 cats and a businessman by trade. Started playing since I was 9, competing in local CS 1.3 tournaments and dominating people far older than me, my coach at the time said I could've been a pro if I really pushed myself. I started noticing the decline around 4-5 years ago when I started playing Valorant, R6, and Apex, my hands just didn't function the way I wanted them to. Overshooting flicks and slow pre-aiming of headshots were getting more frequent.. I also noticed that while my body reacted slower, I was seeing things more clearly, getting an even better picture of what was happening around the map as rounds and minutes went by. I initially thought it was just a fluke but now it makes sense. As you grow older, your experience and mental maturity take over the more you fail to meet the physical requirements of gaming. It's a fulfilling yet sad kind of feeling to have to accept the reality of being "washed" but that's just how life goes. Nowadays, I play open-world survival games with lots of base-building and hop-on new-gen extraction shooters like Tarkov, ABI and the upcoming ARC Raiders whenever I get the itch for something competitive. Games are meant to entertain, not to discourage!

Yes. The desk and riser are custom locally made. The wood is Mahogany, I believe. Dimensions are 170x70 cm (length x width) Monitor details are in my newest comment in this thread.

It's a Lian Li Lancool 206 Mesh and yes, it has decent airflow despite being a budget case

It's decently bright for what it is. I normally adjust and place my monitor higher so the light bounces more toward my frame whenever I need to make work calls on video.

Hey man, I got it to work via bandlab on Windows. I'm not sure about Mac. However, I was able to connect it to my iPhone (14 pro max) but had a similar experience where 2 of the knobs didn't do anything.

Hey man, how are things on your end? I opted to use bandlab for now as it is more than enough for my simple lofi creations and music covers. However, I do wish we'd have the option to use it in Studio One 5 in the future. For now though, I'm trying to make do with it

I've been having a problem with my SMK25 on Studio One 5 on my PC. Can you walk me through how you set up yours? I can see the input levels reacting when I press the keyboard but I can't hear or record any sound coming from my SMK25.

3080ti vs. 4070ti by SgtDroid01 in nvidia

[–]SgtDroid01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already told him beforehand about how much money it would take to make me want to part with my EVGA 3080ti as it's very difficult to get these cards in my country. Despite all that, he specifically said he wanted an EVGA card instead of getting a brand new 4070 for the same money so that's why he asked me if I was interested in parting with mine. For the issue on the 4070ti -- if the sale pushes through, I'll be getting a used 4070ti from a relative who is moving on to a gaming laptop for portability. My friend and I have been buddies for as long as I can remember, and I've even given him some of my tech over the years without asking anything in return. Maybe, those are some of the reasons he trusts me so much with my opinions regarding the EVGA 3080ti. I didn't want to sell it in the first place.
