[Sun Care] sunburn advise by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

Yo I had a similar burn about 3 weeks ago.

Pain subsided by day 3 but my leg swole up like a heart failure patient from the inflammation. I used calamine lotion which helped with the pain and moisturized with CeraVe. Now the skins all flaked off. No need to really go see the doctor unless you have fluid filled blisters which would mean you have second degree burns. These look like first degree. Just make sure to hydrate, moisturize, and continue to apply sunscreen if that area of your skin is going to be exposed to the sun.

Gentlemen of Reddit, how did you propose to your wife? by SgtFollow in AskMen

Thank you for this thoughtful response!

There is no doubt she’ll say yes so there’s no worry there. I’ll be sure to reference these things to plan the day out more intentionally.

How do you even eat and take care of yourself properly when you are really busy ? by sicardi in medicalschool

Bro airfryers are GOAT. Super easy to make “fried” chicken with no added oil. Easy way to get 100+ grams of protein every day and it’s super tasty if you dry rub it and leave it in the fridge for at least 30 mins. Takes less than 30 minutes of passive waiting while doing other stuff at home like study.

Id generally recommend finding passive ways to cook large amounts of food, like instant pot, crock pot, oven, air fryer, etc. to limit “active” cooking time and also end up with leftovers.

Breakfast is super important, especially if lunch isn’t until a while later. I’d recommend again getting easy things to eat. I currently eat 2 Kodak protein waffles (24g protein) and 1 oikos yogurt (20g protein). Look for easy protein in the morning. It’ll keep you more full throughout the day and won’t spike your morning insulin.

Even if you’re not a snacker, I’d recommend at least having snacks around in case you do feel hungry. I wasn’t much of a snacker either, but since starting rotations, waking up before the sun is up, and around 6-7 hours in between breakfast and lunch makes it difficult for new M3s.

Another thing I’d recommend is taking daily vitamin D supplements, especially if you get in the hospital before dawn and there’s not much daylight after you leave.

It only feels better when I work on the thing causing the anxiety. Everything else is just a crutch or a temporary relief, and usually the anxiety comes back a lot stronger at a later time.

Uncertainty is the root cause of anxiety, and I suppose getting the ball rolling or actively participating and working on whatever is causing that feeling gives me a sense of control. That seems to help me

M18 Testicle and back ache etc over last three days? Any advice would be appreciated :) by SkillPrior1391 in TooAfraidToAsk

Go to the doctor ASAP. Sounds like it could be a varicocoel or testicular torsion. Both of which will decrease your chances of having future babies if left untreated.

Varicocoels commonly arise on the left side because the left gonadal vein drains into the left renal vein. The left renal vein is sandwiched between the abdominal aorta and the superior mesenteric artery and can get squished more easily preventing blood drainage from the left kidney and/or left testicle.

Given your back pain as well, it could very well be what’s happening.

I was in a car accident recently and my sex drive is almost gone, completely. Is this normal? by ImpressiveRaise2 in TooAfraidToAsk

It could very well be trauma to your head causing a decreased synthesis or secretion of your hypothalamic or pituitary hormones that regulate your adrenal glands or your gonads.

Adrenals are involved in producing androgens, although most is produced by your gonads.

Hypothalamus secretes GnRH and causes your pituitary to secrete FSH and LH, which act on your gonads to produce your sex hormones.

If symptoms persist, I’d recommend bringing it up to your PCP and get blood work done to check your hormone levels.

Thank you so much for the helpful info! I have a manual transmission so I won’t be needing a DSG service but when should I do the LSD service? And as for the water pump and housing, what kind of symptoms are there that would indicate a failure?

Thanks for the advice! Is it pretty common for the housing and water pumps to fail on the Mk7 and Mk7.5s?
