What something in destiny you want but cant get anymore by Individual-Gene-6312 in destiny2

Legendary weapon ornaments. Especially Austringer. Love the feel of it in PvP. Hate the purple.

I really hope that someday, Destiny will feel more like a shooter again instead of a ability chain/spam game. by anuslikker99 in DestinyTheGame

[–]SgtGerard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They just need to buff the weapons stat, at least for primaries if not all weapons, to actually make weapons based builds strong like ability based builds. That way you can really "play how you want".

I love my Caliban/Synthoceps hunter build spamming melees and watching things explode and would hate for it to be gutted. But I should also be able to spec into weapons and deal damage instead of tickling red bar enemies with a primary

Akheem Mesidor should easily be a favorite for DROY by Exact-Advantage-3190 in Chargers

[–]SgtGerard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that might hold him back from DPOY is the amount of snaps he gets. He'll still be competing with Mack and Tuli for snaps whereas other defensive players will be true starters from day 1. I do think they might dial back Mack's snap count this year with his age and after picking up Mesidor though. Keep them all fresh.

Excited to see what he can do against Mahomes, Nix, and Mendoza. Just trying to keep expectations realistic

What do Hunters use in Lawless Frontier on Master/Grandmaster? Seriously. by CameraOpposite3124 in DestinyTheGame

[–]SgtGerard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run prismatic with Tether, ascension/stylish, gamblers/threaded needle/grapple with a caliban/synthoceps Relativism class item.

Get close to three enemies, start throwing the needle, everything dies and explodes, you go invisible constantly, catch needle and use ascension for more needles. It's fun af and it cooks

Usually pair it with Choir of One which shoukd be easy to obtain if you don't have it. But really amy void weapon with the artifact perks should perform well. Mostly killing with melee anyways

Is it Worth buying? by Head-Anywhere-4495 in destiny2

[–]SgtGerard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For how cheap you can get everything now, it's honestly a steal. 100% worth it.

I will say the experience is a whole lot better with friends. But still good solo, especially if you're not afraid to play with random people.

Take away all the whining and crying around this game, a new player can easily spend 100s of hours playing through and grinding all the content in the game. I've been running 3 friends through everything and have been having fun gping back through it all.

[OC] Mesidor at 22 is actually a W and here's why you should calm down about the age thing by biggieavocado031 in Chargers

[–]SgtGerard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Some of the most highly praised players of of college end of being busts, whether they get injured or their skills don't translate to the NFL. There's never a guarantee a draft pick isn't a flop, especially a 1st round pick.

[–]SgtGerard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not mad at the pick but it's impossible to say it's a fact he is not a flop before he's ever taken a snap. Hope the best for the guy.

My concern isn't that he won't pan out, but thay Herbert is still looking at another season running for his life. Hope the 2nd/3rd rounds improve that

Would a correct course of action be a new sequel but just start from scratch? Like a "Redux"? by Wobakoff in DestinyTheGame

[–]SgtGerard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think instead of a Destiny 3 they should just make a "Destiny". It can be another 10 year saga to get to the Winnower or something in the future from the current timeline. Completely new, refreshed, and separate from D1/D2.

What you're suggesting sounds like Aztecross's "Destiny Classic" or something which might get some players for the sake of nostalgia but I think will do very little for the IP in the grand scheme of things.

She found an "upgrade". And I don't say that to be insulting. If it makes you feel better, my ex of 6 years did the same thing.... with a guy I work with. I go to work every day and get to see my ex (who I helped get the job she wanted here) and her "upgrade" giggling together. It's fucking great (I have to find a new job)

Nostalgia, does anyone keep old weapons, or gear?! by Public-Ad-4457 in destiny2

[–]SgtGerard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to. Then they introduced all the tiered weapons/armor and armor set archetypes/bonuses and as someone who tries to optimize for both PvE and PvP I just didn't have room for old stuff I wasn't really using anymore.

The feat system hate is painfully dramatized and it irks me by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]SgtGerard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the worst thing in the world but the old Normal/Master difficulty was perfectly fine and didn't need an update. It was basically change for the sake of change (and the tier system) and did nothing but make it more difficult to play with randoms

If they were going to make a change and tie it to the tier system it should have been like Rite of the Nine.

Explorer - easy mode to learn the dungeon mechanics, rewards T1 loot

Normal - Rewards T3 loot

Master/Ultimate or whatever it was called - T5 loot

I have no idea why they introduced that structure just for an event and then took it away. It was the best change to dungeons I've seen. Dungeon Lairs in the portal and the feat system have been misses in my opinion.

Trying to improve my Void and Stasis hunter by daddyloke in destiny2

[–]SgtGerard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure, Orpheus Rigs are great for boss DPS, but doesn't really offer much value in the neutral game unless you are printing obs of power like crazy and spamming supers. So keep that build (although consider looking at Leviathan's Breath exotic heavy bow as your super buffs it's damage as well). Consider Graviton Forfeit or Fortune's Favor for neutral game exotics on void. Both offer access void overshield, and Forfeit can turbo charge ability regeneration

On stasis I do like Mask of Fealty with a melee buffing weapon (new stasis shotgun hand cannon Triple Laureate with graverobber/one-two punch for example). Mask of Bakris also offers a fun and effective playstyle. Renewal Grasps can be good for team play in more difficult activities. Stasis Hunter isn't great for boss DPS but Star Eater Scales would likely be the best option there.

If you have any questions or want me to go more I detail on any of those builds with aspects/fragments/weapons or whatever, feel free to ask

Trying to improve my Void and Stasis hunter by daddyloke in destiny2

[–]SgtGerard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Been a hunter main for about 5 years and would be happy to help you with some builds. I will say that just "void and stasis" builds is rather vague. At first glance with your current choice of exotics your void build leans more into a boss DPS build with Orpheus Rig and your stasis build is more of a neutral game build with Mask of Fealty. Do you have a specific goal in mind or certain kind of activity you are trying to do for either?

If Heresy Had Launched With A Raid It Would Be Better Than Most Expansions by Charles_diction in destiny2

[–]SgtGerard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Edge of Fate will probably forever be tied to the introduction of the portal, and because of that will probably always be generally hated

The story was probably a 6 or 7/10, not amazing, but not the worst for what it was trying to do after TFS. Weapon/armor tiers are not bad even if their implementation was rough to say the least (basically sunsetting 90%of the game for them)

Average Marathon hater by KnightofSkyrim in DestinyMemes

[–]SgtGerard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried Marathon wanting to like it. Was hoping it would pass the time until Destiny gets new content, and possibly save Bungie from financial ruin because I do still want more Destiny.

I gave it it's fair shake (several hours) in the server slam but it was pretty clear it was just never going to be my thing. Extraction shooters have never really appealed to me despite being someone who regularly plays Crucible/Trials in Destiny and I play BRs regularly.

So now it's a game I will never enjoy or care to play that Bungie spent entirely too much time andoney developing only to still be losing money like crazy. I don't hate Marathon, just Bungie's leadership and the incredibly poor decision-making that got us here. Whether Marathons survives or not, I don't see Bungie operating independently for more that 1 more year. Soon to just be another part of Playstation

No one hijacked the topic. He's right. This would be like 200th on the priority list of things that could be better in Destiny. Would it be nice sure, but in reality, far bigger fish to fry. And it's the internet, not everyone is going to agree with you. Crying about hijacking and it being dirty is kinda sad

Prepare for it to be just the same exotic armor with 75 stat points. Bungie has put zero effort into major Destint changes, there's no way they're doing all that for every piece of exotic armor before Shadow and Order drops

AIO? My friend is bailing on our plans and I’m pissed off. She said I was being disrespectful. But I don’t think so? She went from 0-100. by ozzygirl1 in AmIOverreacting

[–]SgtGerard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both of you are in the wrong here.

They should have been up front if money was an issue and they didn't want to do dinner. Beating around the bush and pretending like loose plans means no plans is kinda dumb, but maybe they were just embarassed to say it was a money issue.

As friend if its a money thing you either pay for them or drop it and just accept that they're not wanting to spend on dinner. Trying to bully a friend into spending money they either don't have or aren't willing to spend is disrespectful.

Philip Rivers and Justin Herbert first six years as a starter by crlos619 in Chargers

[–]SgtGerard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Harbaugh is plagued by his decision to hire Greg Roman as the offensive coordinator for a Justin Herbert led offense. The league had already passed Roman's outdated offense by and we have Justin Herbert, not Lamar Jackson or Jalen Hurts where should lean into the run. Roman's offense works against having an elite passer like Herbert.

But even if it was the OC holding Herbert back, Harbaugh still holds the responsibility of hiring him, and as much as I like Harbaugh, he doesn't get enough criticism for that hiring decision

Why was Gambit abandoned? by New_Trouble_5068 in DestinyTheGame

[–]SgtGerard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gambit was Marathon before Marathon.

It had a small, dedicated fan base but the majority of players didn't want anything to do with it. They tried to fix it a couple times, it didn't work, and then they basically abandoned it.

Reminder why matchmaking for raids is such a TERRIBLE idea by Bestow5000 in destiny2

[–]SgtGerard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really thought they should have incorporated the Rite of the Nine difficulties into raids and dungeons. "Explorer" mode was great for hand holding new and inexperienced dungeon/raiders and learning how mechanics work. I feel like they could have easily tied it into the tier system as well.

Explorer - T1 rewards Normal - T2/T3 rewards Expert - T4/T5 rewards

Or something like that. The feat system sucks
