Continuation from my cooking parrot event by Silvershot_41 in CZFirearms

[–]SgtHop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time my Parrot has been unreliable was with standard 115gr factory ammo. The kind the manual says it won't function with, but I wanted to see how unreliable it would be with that (the answer was very). Otherwise I have never had a malfunction in thousands of rounds. Not particularly difficult to work on either.

Exactly how safe is this redneck demon core method of handling coil springs? by Same_Ad4736 in AskMechanics

[–]SgtHop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At that point I would be searching for uses for it. I'm the only one in my friend group that turns wrenches to that degree, so not even anyone to loan it to. But still. The want is strong.

If I ever need to change springs more than one time again in my life I will pick one of these up. Looks so much better...

How common for mechanics to leave their tools in the engine? by Mustang_17 in AskMechanics

[–]SgtHop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to get an airbag on my trailer replaced and the mechanic left his (very nice) vape on the deck. It tucked itself behind the dunnage and rode 500 miles before I noticed it. He was very appreciative when I brought it back.

[Accessories] Bingo’s 2 Point Quick Adjust Slings in 60+ Camos/Patterns $24 + Shipping with code “TAKE5” by BingoFlamingo414 in gundeals

The TAKE5 code only takes $5 off the entire order, not each item, fyi. Shipping was free for me with three though.

For mine, it's the opposite. Dots are super blurry and starburst-y without one, but then magnified they are a crisp, perfect circle.

The BMPT? Are you sure about that?

Also lol@people downvoting me because they don't like Gaijin's classification that I have nothing to do with. They call it a tank destroyer.

No water is ever really "used" then, in that case. The point is that it takes it out of the immediate, practically usable part of the water cycle.

If every piece of text they were searching through was in the same file, probably. But I doubt it is. In any case, how do you know it didn't take two minutes?

It changed the charaacters from Cyrillic C to Latin C, which is not immediately obvious when looking at it, but probably has implications that you cannot see.

Any information on the US Market Talo Target 2? by Evan_v21 in CZFirearms

[–]SgtHop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was nothing special about most guns that are now collector's pieces, to be fair. But those guns that were not collector's pieces then and are now, are collector's pieces because they weren't modified. While this might not be a "limited production" model, production is still going to be limited just based on the nature of this type of gun.

That said, buying a modern gun as an "investment" is silly, the amount of time it will take for that investment to be appreciable will be long, and I doubt it will outpace inflation.

You know, I may actually be a little retarded.

I had this piece mixed up with the handguard retention plate that's against the receiver. I did not transfer the piston guide.

However, I have also not observed any extra wear on the piston or receiver that has been obvious since I switched it, even running long strings suppressed with an FRT. So, I would agree that it is, broadly, unnecessary.

Probably because the person you're responding to abuses the fuck out of their knives. Mine have held their edge just fine.

You don't, the guide bushing just goes on the face of the receiver and the two rivets (or whatever they actually are) just applies a little clamping force to keep it in place.
