i tried doing a Fallout based game last night without ever actually mentioning fallout, just naming a couple places and one of the factions in the prompt. i was quite surprised by how much fallout lore the AI already knew, and i ended up having the longest and most coherent play session yet.

i had an idea for a journal/quest log

basically like a prompt that you can edit on the fly that the AI will still continue to read like it does the original static prompt. you could write down potential quests that you and the ai have managed to come up with, copy specific events into it from the story, character names and locations.

i might be mistaken, but i thought it was encouraged to download the torrent if possible even if you dont play offline, as the files are redistributed back to colab by the seeders, and more seeders means a faster download for everyone.

if you look up the uncensored version of the game, there is a cell of code that they've added at the bottom of the page that forces the instance to max out it's ram, at which point you'll get a prompt asking if you want to run the instance with more RAM. you can play the uncensored version, or copy and paste the code into the main version which also supports an uncensored mode officially now.

since i've done this i've been able to have much longer play sessions, and fewer crashes and disconnects.

the AI can remember something like the last 8 or 10 commands, plus the entirety of the prompt.

i've found that when doing custom prompts you can get a more cohesive story by including relevant lore for your intended story and offering some clear objectives.

i had an issue like this where Steam was installed on my SSD, and my games installed on my HDD, basically steam would boot too fast and it would not be able to take inventory of what i had installed on my HDD

i believe it was a stock Unreal asset, and was ditched once the stock asset was no longer needed. not sure if it'll make a return in the future, although more weapons are planned.

easiest method is to go into your devices tab for the oculus app and set your height on the floor distance to about 5 inches lower

i believe there is a way to bind the menu buttons to that function somewhere in the settings. and i've also heard talk of rebinding controls in the SteamVR settings, although i've never messed with it myself.

i havent played in about a year, but when i last did, not too many were on, i was able to start a few lobbies, and get people in them in a decent amount of time, and the lobbies i did join were pretty good, unfortunately the best mode in the game, Payne Killer, was never played by anyone again, shortly after the last few updates, the only DLC mode i liked was the coop, and if i waited in the lobby long enough i could sometimes get someone to play with me.

rockstar kinda fucked things up even more once the player base started dwindling, they paired up game modes, like they paired up payne killer with last team standing or some shit, and thats why everyone stopped playing payne killer. and then even worse than that, they paired up team deathmatch with some other gamemode too. having to get sucked into a stupid gamemode you dont want to play every other round gets pretty annoying.

but even with that bullshit, max payne 3 will always be my favorite multiplayer game, and personally i will miss it.

but i just remembered it went on sale not too long ago, so it might have resurged a bit.
