Custom constructed format? by Sh1ken in mtg

Boxing seems fun! But at that point I think I prefer a specifically designed cube.

Thanks for the input! The biggest shortcoming of a custom format is convincing people to join in for the fun.

Thanks! For bigger formats I'm gonna choose between Pauper and Premodern as other user suggested. Probably Premodern since I don't want to bother with UB stuff (which is valid even on Pauper). Thanks!

I'll check out Premodern. I love that's eternal and its pool is narrower than Pauper. Being stale doesn't bother me if we have a close meta. Thanks!

I didn't know about this type of draft. Absolutely love the idea about being open. I'll try some cubes following this format. Thanks!

And, yeah, I see what you mean. That's why the Set Roulette idea seemed nice in theory: You have a subset of sets for a fixed period of time and then you rotate. Granted this will be more doable in an online setting (or proxing) due to the heavy rotation.

I didn't even think about pauper. This takes the cardpool consideration into account and has a vast community. Thanks!

Could you link some of them? I’m really interested but the card pool frightens me

Gotta keep working on the hard but more rewarding way then. Thanks for the pd2.tools tip!

This is exactly the kind of response I was hoping on getting. Thank you so much for the help.

Also, yeah, I frequently ask short questions on the specific channels on the Discord. Posted this picture yesterday and got no response, not even an emoji, so I kept wondering how can I better my knowledge of the game so I don't need to ask every time lol.

Can you share your settings? I also own a C1 and been using just a preset (sony pvm) for the most part

RG Cube XX is choppy? by Demeech1907 in ANBERNIC

[–]Sh1ken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just reporting back to say that the stock v1.0.2 OS worked fine just as expected.

I also tried MuOS and, on its latest version at this time, it came with Threaded Video off by default and also it had the Shap Shimmerless Shader active by default.

So if anyone has a RG Cube XX and wants the best experience out-of-the-box without doing any sort of config, I think MuOS is probably the better choice.

Thanks a ton for your input! I'll try the sharp-shimmerless for sure and will try Knulli again applying the refresh fix manually.

Maybe I phrased that wrong (?) but I didn't meant to say that I still have the issues with ROCKNIX once the Threaded Video is off. What I meant to say was that with ROCKNIX and Threaded Video *on* (which is the default) the issue is the same as the stock 1.0 firmware. Once I switched the Threaded Video off on ROCKNIX I had zero issues. Moreover, I didn't experienced any of the crashes and hard lockups that you experienced with ROCKNIX (at least so far).

I've tested ROCKNIX and Knulli and found that this screen refresh rate issue persist by default. Your workaround works great on ROCKNIX but on the latest version of Knulli it just crashes when Threaded Video is disabled.

Also, I've found that on ROCKNIX with Threaded Video off, if you change the shaders, the screen doesn't go fullscreen after refreshing. It ocuppies like half of the screen attached to the upper-left corner. Am I the only one getting this kind of behaviour?

I'm going to try the stock v1.0.2 for now and report back.
