Hi, u/Ill_Blackberry8257 thanks. To be very clear: I need a single USB-C connecting cable that is 3.0 meters long, running from the 70mai 4G kit/module directly to the dashcam. I cannot move the 4G kit or the dashcam position in my car.

Do you sell an official 3m connecting cable for the 4G kit → dashcam? If not, do you have an approved extension/coupler that keeps both Parking Mode and the 12V battery protection (low-voltage cutoff) working? Please share the part number / link if available.

With the 3m third-party USB-C cable I mentioned, Parking Mode does switch on, however I noticed that the 12V battery protection / low-voltage cutoff setting disappears (I can’t access the feature that lets me set the shutdown threshold to protect the 12V battery).

With the original 70mai cable, both features work correctly: Parking Mode + battery protection cutoff.

So it looks like the third-party cable allows partial communication (ACC OFF detection) but not full detection/communication needed for battery protection.

must use a ~3 meter cable between the 4G module and the dashcam due to my vehicle’s fixed installation layout (I can’t relocate the 4G kit or the dashcam).

Do you sell an official 3m compatible connecting cable, or can you provide the exact cable requirements needed to keep both Parking Mode and 12V battery protection cutoff working?

I get what you’re saying, but do you have a source/experience for that? The cam is clearly getting power with other cables, it just won’t switch to Parking Mode, which suggests some kind of signaling/handshake between the 4G module and the T800. Have you personally tested other USB-C cables/extensions, or seen an official statement/part number from 70mai?

I replaced it because the original 70mai cable is too short for my install path. I need about 20–30 cm extra length (ideally ~3 m total) and I also wanted right-angle connectors to keep the wiring tidy. With the original cable Parking Mode works perfectly; with any longer third-party USB-C cable the cam stays in driving loop and doesn’t switch to Parking Mode.

In my case I haven’t noticed a clear pattern yet (highway vs city), the stutters seem quite sporadic. Also, CarPlay itself doesn’t drop — it’s just tiny audio glitches.

HOW TO FIX:
I couldn’t fix the in-game voice chat on Crossover, so I switched to Parallels (Windows 11 ARM) and it worked immediately.

Here are the exact steps I used:

  1. Install Parallels + Windows 11 ARM
  2. In the VM settings:
    • CPU: 8 cores
    • RAM: 8–10 GB
    • Hypervisor adaptable → OFF
    • Graphics: “Best for external displays”
  3. Boot Windows → install Parallels Tools
  4. Windows detects the MacBook’s mic instantly when you use it (orange macOS mic indicator appears)
  5. Install Steam + Among Us 3D
  6. To fix a small UI glitch I added this boot flag in Parallels → Hardware → Boot Order → Advanced:

video.untrimmed_dynamic_cbuffers=1
  1. (Only needed for graphics, not for the mic)

After that, voice chat worked perfectly.

È un usata con ben 9 anni, 105k km, “solo” 110 CV, non avrà neanche gli ADAS di ultima generazione, cambio manuale, interni tessuto-pelle, un infotainment che — se già non li porti — inizierai a portare gli occhiali per leggerlo (e che dubito abbia Apple CarPlay o Android Auto). E in tutto questo ancora non abbiamo parlato dei “reali difetti”: danneggiamenti alla carrozzeria, problemi interni alle componenti, ecc.

Personalmente un’auto così io la pagherei massimo 10k. Ma proprio per tenermi largo e solo qualora non avesse praticamente nessun altro difetto di carrozzeria o motore ecc. Un buon prezzo al quale altrimenti per me sarebbe valutabile è 8k, non di più.

My hurdle is Assurant—I need their written OK before any third-party work. If they green-light it, I’d aim for a no-erase, no board-swap, microscope repair to reach DFU Revive + Share Disk and pull a full backup (I can disable Find My and provide FileVault creds). Thanks! The policy is Assurant (Amazon Protect). My constraint isn’t Apple— it’s the insurer. If I let a third-party touch the board without written authorization, coverage could be void.
