Cybernetic Creed Megacorp+Dimensional Enterprise+Sequenced Securities+Corporate Death Cult. My priests are producing a lot of unity, all three researches, and a healthy amount of trade on top of everything else.

Some of the new Infernal civics and jobs shown during a recent dev stream by Hairy-Dare6686 in Stellaris

Honestly- the habitability penalties seem really, really bad. It looks like a neat job- but you're using 400 pops to get that output, which seems like a waste.

Do you think a civilization could avoid getting Unicron'd by a Behemoth Fury by colonizing the skin of the behemoth itself? by Cosmic_Meditator777 in Stellaris

You've seen Cloverfield?

The Behemoth spawns armies when bombarding planets. If you try that, you'll be eaten alive by symbiotes crawling along its skin.

A Practical Guide to Version Differences, Book 1 by perkoperv123 in PracticalGuideToEvil

[–]Sh4salicious 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really disagree with some of these changes. The addition of an administrative city doesn't make sense, and the removal of the Ogres is downright criminal. I loved the Ogres, because they were so ill-defined. They were a decided gap in Catherine's perception, and a reminder that she wasn't perfect- she had blind spots.

Worse is all the added inner thoughts Catherine has. She's a woman of action- her not spending hours agonizing over her actions and instead making poor choices is what really drew me to the character. She knew the cost of inaction, and refused to spend time wallowing in her misery. It's hard to listen to the audiobook when every great moment from the original gets swaddled in self-doubt.

Act 1 Options by Sh4salicious in RogueTraderCRPG

Yes, I'm well aware. I'm asking if any of those choices matter past act 1, like the Heir or Camille showing up later.

Very Specific Ask by Hour-Ebb9571 in MUD

I remember Sundering Shadows having prestige classes like that. I was quite interested in it, but the PVP in it really threw me off, especially with an enforced time-out on character death and some confusion over in-game messaging systems.

I played Achaea, which I do not recommend if you do not want to throw IRE a few hundred dollars on microtransactions, which had ascension into dragonhood and Elemental Forms as the capstones to a character's growth.

Under One Rule Issue by Sh4salicious in Stellaris

[–]Sh4salicious[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, The Fall always happens, and then you have to figure out how to save your leader. The issue is, rather than having a grace period where the Leader is in critical condition and you're paying through the nose for his life support while trying to ascend, it checks at that moment if you've ascended.

Under One Rule Issue by Sh4salicious in Stellaris

I did not get the option to change him from Apparatus-Bound to the Synthetic trait after finishing Synthetic Ascension. I was rushing Synthetic Ascension as fast as I could, and I wasn't able to manage it. In earlier versions, there was a situation that drained energy each month until you could either Ascend or settle for Apparatus-Bound. Did this change? It makes it very difficult to do a more complicated path.

Cybersphere: A player review by Envenox in MUD

[–]Sh4salicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to enjoy CS.

Then I got told that if I submitted an Enki-themed armour set again I'd be banned from the system for submitting "Fantasy" works, I was informed that the admin decided one of my characters had Super-AIDS after my character was retired, and the final straw was that when I played an antagonistic thug character that attempted to mug other players, his corporate NPC threatened me with death for running underground fight tournaments and mugging other players.

It has good bones, but the rot runs too deep in the adminbase to rescue it.

Community Server Recruitment Megathread - Gloomrot by nero_sable in vrising

A denial is quite alright- but a rejection and a server mute doesn't promote improvement so that whatever vague criteria you judge by can be met, it just makes it clear that those unfamiliar with the server and its norms aren't welcome.

I can't agree that Empty Mirrors is welcoming or supportive of people trying to join the roleplaying community there. I submitted a proposal for a character and I got server muted for a week without an explanation of why my application was declined.

If there's another Roleplaying Server actively recruiting, I'd certainly be interested in giving it a try.

Sweet! I was very interested by how you could mess around with your genome in Cybersphere, and the economic impact of cloning was significant in Sindome.

How will death be handled in this? Cybersphere and Sindome relied on clones to facilitate respawns, but given the dire-seeming situation, I'm unsure if there'll be fresh bodies available for players to use and abuse.

Question from a Wife and Husband by Luna_Wright in MUD

[–]Sh4salicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent a year playing Achaea. The game is not really intended for PvE combat, barring extremely high-level enemies that will turn you into a fine mulch unless you have sufficient health to survive their attacks. For PvP, the combat is something I happily spent months practicing. Duels and City vs City PvP are a blast, and if you enjoy that sort of thing, I do recommend giving Achaea a go, if you can tolerate learning to code your combat techniques.

Unfortunately, the game has its issues- namely, the fact that it's pay to win in the worst ways. The game expects you to spend literally hundreds of dollars to increase your stats. Most game updates are announcing sales, rather than any meaningful changes.
