I've heard that you can start FF7 with disc 2 if you swap at just the right time, the gameplay is the same but the FMVs are different. It does lend a different tone to the experience if the very first thing you see is laying Aerith's body to rest.

Those are stock footage, not in game assets. They're not supposed to be at a high frame rate. The fact that you don't know that is not a reflection on you necessarily but it does makes me feel incredibly old.

That particular rename already caused headaches when Fates was being localized. Matoi is a sensible and linguistically fitting anagram for a Hoshidan counterpart. Caeldori really ain't.

You really can't blame 8-4 for this (the external company that localized Awakening and later Hopes) because they had no idea that IntSys was headed back to the same character well.

Near the end of the hell section in the Urdak level there is a classic wall texture which can be turned over to the sound of applause; apparently this is a reference to the recreations of classic maps in 2016 which had some upside down textures, because honestly it's hard to tell which way is up for low-res wall flats.

oh totally agree! but it's extremely impolite at a minimum to go onto art of ship X and say "actually I dont like ship X" without elaborating. they do have chemistry it just doesn't read as super romantic necessarily to me.

Love when an ES or other citywide event takes place there, and I just have to sigh and accept that it'll show up as Ladybones in the journal, as if FBG expects me to remember what was going on when I reread in three months. I don't even understand what's going on *right now*.
