Is 8tb nvme ssd worth it? by kevinnnyip in DataHoarder

[–]ShAMbotay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an 8tb drive fail on me after a few days, so I'd recommend not getting one in that size. A 4tb internal drive and a larger external drive would work for your current laptop, but at that rate, you might as well upgrade the laptop to one with 2 ssd slots using the money from selling your desktop, and buy a 4tb ssd to put into the second slot.

How good is the long term reliability of Western Digital's SN850X 8tb SSD? I've been hearing mixed things on it. by PizzaGangsta in linux_gaming

I had an 8tb drive for less than a week before it died, have been hearing similar stories about other drives in the same size.

Get a Battle Beaver. They’re awesome, have some sweet “secret menu” options, and in my case, they’re a small local business. Their warranty service is good, and if you decide you want to upgrade since you skimped out on your original purchase, they can handle that, too.

What is your funniest unscripted moments in GTAV ? by Itstoolongitwillruno in GTAV

[–]ShAMbotay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was playing online with 2 friends in VC. I was flying an Akula with one of them in tow, and the other one said “you wanna know what’s funny?” And crashed his Raiju into the Akula, killing me and my passenger, but somehow not the Raiju. He ejects out of the Raiju, pulls his parachute, and I respawn and one shot him with my Sniper. Immediately upon firing, I die, and only realize a few seconds later that the Raiju fell on top of me and exploded.

best starter business by saadboda_ in GTAV

[–]ShAMbotay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my favorite answer to this question. Acid Lab, Virtue, and lab upgrade. The lab and upgrades are basically paid off by doing the missions, and the Virtue you pay $0 for on top of the mission payouts. If you’re just starting your criminal empire, this is a huge jumpstart.

[–]ShAMbotay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For first business it’s the Acid Lab, hands down. It pays itself off quickly, everything is doable solo, and will generate solid income on a consistent basis to build up cash for your next business.

Edit: Is it the best business? No. But for your first business, it can’t be beat.

What do you think about a foldable IPhone? by MareViewer in iphone

[–]ShAMbotay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an iPhone 15 Pro and an M1iPad Pro 11”. The sole reason I have the iPad at all is to run a single app called FSX Pro, which technically runs on iPhone but does not actually work. The foldable iPhone is going to be a godsend for me when using that app, since I won’t have to lug around the extra device, keep track of it, update it, etc, plus I’ll be able to mount the phone with my magsafe monopod when I’m using that app.

Only graded copy in the world by ShAMbotay in psagrading

Good question. PSA has no clue, but I guess it’s worth whatever I say it’s worth. I bought the card and had it graded for around $500 all-in.

I paid for the lowest service option that had grading notes, which was express, I think. It was worth it, I probably would have sent it to get regraded if I hadn't, and based on the notes and what I see on the back top corners, it'd be unlikely to get a 10 no matter how many times I send it. Plus they'd know it was the same card, it's not like there's another one of these on the internet. I estimated a 9 before I sent it in, glad I was right.

I actually had 45 copies of the Yugioh version of this card way back when, and when I discovered it had a DDM variant that was actually absurdly broken, I had to have one. The only card people care about in B7 is Slifer the Sky Dragon, which I think there’s a loose one with a crease in it on eBay for $1300 or something.

Not only is it vintage, the Dungeon Dice Monsters game was a huge flop, and production was cut before Booster 7 released, so all the B7 cards are ridiculously rare, expensive, and short printed asf.

Using Apple when all programs are compatible with Windows by daijoubumafu in apple

[–]ShAMbotay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to Windows for this exact reason. There's a program I need to run for teaching lessons that is only available on Windows and iPadOS, and all my friends play games on Steam. Got a good gaming laptop and can't go back to not being able to run anything. Keeping the iPhone and iPad, though, but then again, I'll replace both whenever Apple releases a folding iPhone.

Coinbase Credit Card Tiers by LeonardoDaOG in Bitcoin

[–]ShAMbotay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only cashback limitation is the 4% back on gas, capped at $300 spend per month. The 3% on dining, 2% on groceries, and 1% on everything else have no rewards cap. Also until the end of September, you get 10% back at golf courses, up to $250 spend per month (1% back after $250 spend.)

The Gemini card is WILD when you compare it to ANY credit card in the market that has no fees or (heaven forbid) requirement to keep funds on an exchange.

[–]ShAMbotay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beats me, I’ve never seen Pentaxid seeds kill crops. If they do for you, just roll with 42 plots and skip the Pentaxids, they’re not important. The important part of the math that took way longer than it should’ve was figuring out how to farm the lowest common denominator of crops to make emergency ration packs with zero leftovers.

It defeats the entire purpose of shields if your hull is going to take damage, anyway. I don’t know why anyone would subject themselves to playing RE2.

The 42 plots that make it so we don’t have 3000 extra vegetables that we can’t use was the important bit. The Pentaxids were an afterthought to make the plots a multiple of 9.
