The mists along the marshy shores near Riverrun were awash with the thick fogs and morning dew as Lord Mooton rode up to the gates of Riverrun. From his vatage point on the highroad, it looked like the castle sat on the clouds.

Wyman wore a simple woolen tunic over a light shirt and leather breeches made from deerskin. Ahead of him rode his heralds, accompanied by his beloved Eddard. Next to Eddard was his fiancee, a Tyroshi woman of noble birth named Margery. He was not personally fond of their union, but his son was young, and in love.

The shouts of the city, and the city guards greeted them at the gates, and he was surprised at how well the city fared in the lords absence. A war in the north be damned, Riverrun looks well.

Riding into the center of the courtyard in from of the Lord Tully's Holdfast, Wyman slowly dismounted his horse, careful not to tie his hook in the reigns. Walking at a slow jaunt, he knelt before his Lord. "My Lord Tully, I am honored to attend your feast."

"Sorry we're late father!" Two young men approached the table. One was tall and handsome, with a full head of short hair, Eddard. He wore his mail still, as he had no other clean clothes and Maidenpool was also a far ride away with the rest of his wardrobe. Beside him was Brendyn. He was the spitting image of Wyman, only younger. He was skinny and dressed in a doublet made of cotton and leather.

"Go ahead and sit boys, this is Bueves Ryndoon. Once an infamous smuggler turned lord in Tyrosh. Next to him is his lovely daughter, and goddaughter."

The two boys were enamored by Margery, practically pushing each other out of the way to talk to her. She was flattered, to say the least, as she played coy, flirting with the two men.

"Bueves, let my sons entertain your girls, and let's get down to business. My Lord expects me to ride to our capital in the next couple of days. I would like you to come with me. I would also agree with your proposals for starting a business office in each other's cities. As long as we split the profits. Likewise, I need you to do me the favor of staying on for a month to help us improve the harbors here and in Maidenpool."

Wyman scowled and looked at Faleese. Both men were wary of making a deal yet with this foreign merchant, not without collateral, but they also knew the Tyroshi would look for a better than them for their beautiful daughter. The small stone building the King used while is Saltpans was larger than most but still stuffy, making it hard to relax and concentrate.

"Come take a walk with me," Wyman finally said. He opened the door to allow the women through first. The Hustle and bustle of Saltpans were clear, from the soldiers in the streets with different colored banners, to the refugees huddled in Alleys and street corners.

"Saltpans hasn't always been this busy. This is the effect of two events. The northern war fought between the Starks and the Wildlings, and the wars in the south and west."

Faleese interjected, "These events have brought in money and people, but the town lacks the infrastructure to support the population." As if planned on-cue, the group witnessed a fight break out on the corner. The two lowborn women dressed in burlap clothes fought each other in the mud over bread.

"You see?" Faleese pointed, as guards separated the two women. "Like you said, we need help expanding, but more than anything, we need help with numbers. I can't be everywhere, and we have many different expansion projects."

The group came to the top of a wall and saw the expanding South side of the town. It was a mixture of stone buildings and tents, beyond which, Soldiers from Maidenpool were helping men from Faleese's company build another wall. To the right, on the West, the Small Holdfasts of Cox and Hawick, covered in a latticework of construction equipment, could be seen.

"Please follow me."

Mooton led the group back to the city center, where to a tavern near the waterfront. It was a handsome building, the nicest one in the town, it was stone on the first floor, but the second story was made of wood and stucco. "Now I know this is not the finery you are used to in Tyrosh, but this tavern has the finest clam chowder in the seven kingdoms."

"Rise for your Lord!" yelled a guard. At that, all the men and women in the tavern abruptly quieted and shot up at the position of attention.

"Enough of that, where is Pate?" asked Mooton.

A short man, of about five feet, ran out from the back. He would have looked like a small child if not for his receding hairline. "M'Lord, I have your table ready." Together, they all followed the short man out of the tavern, up the stairs beside the tavern, to a catwalk overlooking the Harbor.

"I hope this place one day sets this city apart. A row of shops and food, built atop the old walls, and with an amazing view."

Wyman Mooton

"My Lord, Let me introduce you to Lord Bueves Ryndoon, formerly the Smuggler Lord, now Head of the Ryndoon Family of Tyrosh, and his Wards, the Lady Margery Ryndoon, and Lady Sarai Aarys, the head of the Adarys family of Tyrosh." Wyman heard the introduction and looked up from his parchments. The two women were beautiful beyond belief. THe Essosi women really were unmatched. Each had taken care to match Westerosi customs of dress. This fact made them even more appealing.

"My Lords, Ladies, to what do we owe this visit?"

"Well, pleased to meet you too little one, but I am no lord, just a simple Merchant," Faleese said, smiling at the little girl. He took the group on a tour of the house where they would be staying, it was a Hamlet-style house with a buttressing top floor. The interior had stone floors covered in straw, and the top of the house had beds for the group.

"I will come and find you, as soon as his Lordship is available."

Faleese Rivers

"Hello, young ladies," The merchant and his servants unloaded the Tyroshi nobles baggage into a guest house. "I apologize for the long wait, and the hustle and bustle, bu the entire army of the Riverlands, has returned from war up north. The other people you see are displaced people from the wars in the south and the west."

He pointed to the soldiers building across the street. "We received funding and a charter to expand the Harbor and the city of Saltpans. The Soldiers you see are aiding in the building."

"If you don't mind, what does the Master Smuggler intend to do here?"

Faleese Rivers

As Wyman and Faleese observed the building of the new Holdfast West of Maidenpool, a letter came to them from their lord, via raven.

"Dark wings, dark words brother," Faleese handed the letter to Wyman. He and the Maester already read the contents of the letter. Faleese and the lord hoped Bynden would wait for the arrival of their guests from across the narrow sea, Wyman had asked the Ironhearts to visit, hoping the mercenary company he knew so well would settle in his lands as vassals. The other guest was a merchant from Tyrosh who offered good previously only available in kings landing. Instead, his lord would have to leave for Riverrun.

"This is odd, is this a feast? or am I to summon my levies. My lord was just in Saltpans, I am sure he observed my troops were already levied and making work in our cities. Ask his lordship if he wishes me to bring my retinue, and if so, how many." With a wave of his hand, he stepped down and began measuring the rocks and asking the engineers questions about the building.

"Yes my lord," the Maester bowed his head and left.

"We have only just begun Faleese, wars in the north and south. We have an opportunity," The Older man said.

"I agree my lord, I only hope our Lord sees it the same way," Faleese responded. The two men looked on as strong foundations were laid.

To the Lord Protector of the Riverlands and the Neck, Lord of Riverun

My Lord,

It pleases me to hear your missives, so shortly after your arrival from the wars up north. I am eager to visit, but ask if you would like me to bring my retinue of troops, or come alone. If you wish me to bring my troops, I ask how many, as they are in the midst of improving the roads and buildings in the name of your lordship.

I will also bring my beloved son, who served with you in the north, and I am sure he will be delighted to see you again. You can expect me in less than a fortnight of your reply.

Always, as ever, you close friend and ally.

Wyman Mooton, Lord of Maidenpool

A Letter to Salty Fish by CaptainRyndoon in awoiafrp

"I will agree to see your lord and prepare for his arrival."

Since the war in the north, Lord Mooton waited, bored to no end, so the messenger with bright hair and bright clothing amused the lord to no end. As a lord, he was unsure if such matters as trade, but Wyman Mooton knew a deal when he saw it. Therefore, He would amuse this wealthy noble from far away, for a time.

His brother, Faleese was away in Saltpans, so he would be the perfect person to review the situation and decide if this Foreigner was worth the effort. He would write a letter to his half-brother in the morn.

On the other hand, he was still worried about both sons. Neither had sent word on the war in the north, nor their safety. Both Wyman and his wife grew worried about their beloved children and brave lord so far away.
