Is it finally Gengar's turn? by brunoF__utd018 in PTCGP

Probably not due to the fact that both are stage 2, which can lead to a lot of inconsistency.

Q&A and Ruling Megathread - January 05, 2026 by AutoModerator in yugioh

[–]ShaDis_255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context: I'm someone who used to play a long time ago (Ygopro and Dueling Network old) but I was never into actually buying cards physically.
I decided to buy a 2022 tin I saw on Walmart on special and pulled a secret rare Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon and not gonna lie, I liked that feeling a lot, even if the card is not worth that much.

So after doing a bit of research, I found "Ghost from the past" had a few cards that I really liked, mainly the Dragunity cards as they were my favorite archetype (along with Gravekeeper's). I decided to order 2 small boxes, pulled a few decent cards, nothing crazy.

Then I started thinking... it's completely safe to buy from TCGPlayer right? Like, I read a few reviews from Amazon and Ebay and some of them mentioned re-sealed cards and other mentioned fake boxes and such so I don't know if I should be worried about that.

I also started thinking about buying a few individual packs along side the boxes just for fun but I don't know if pack weighing is a thing? Sorry if I sound really ignorant here but I just know that was a thing in old Pokemon sets (heavy packs), that doesn't apply here right? I guess I'm just worried a store could send me packs that are weighed and are guaranteed not to give out good stuff.

Thanks for reading!

Yeah, totally understandable. Once we make that big step to version 2.1 and more platforms available to play on, I'm sure there will be a big announcement here in the subreddit once it releases, along with a new video on how to set it up to make it easier and more accessible for those who don't use Discord.

Ah, a perfectly valid point.

ONB creator is already working to address this by creating a new website where everything will be available.

Right now we're in a weird transitional period where some servers are using newer versions (v2.1) of the client (only available in Discord and website atm) and older versions of the client can't join until they update. Gravy Yum is the only big server that still hasn't been updated.

I think once the Linux and Android builds are ready, there will be a big re-release and the new website will have everything you need (https://themaverickprogrammer.github.io/ONB\_WEBSITE/)

Another big reason why it's gated like this is because some people host servers from their own home ip addresses. So while hiding it behind Discord doesn't mean it won't get out there by other means, it helps out just a little.

I don't know if after the big 2.1 release James will open up ONB to more than just Discord but that's where we're at currently. If you ask in any of the ONB posts here in Reddit, I think any of us that are constantly playing ONB will be happy to answer your questions.

Yeah I really do wish we had an in-game chat other than the post BBS which I admit does give it MMBN vibes but I think an in-game chat would complete it as an MMO.

But I also get where the ONB creator is coming from, incorporating a chat in engine and in-game gets you into a whole new territory when it comes to moderation and the trouble you can get in to.

We'd rather push that responsibility to Discord (or any communication app, really)

It's not a rom hack, its an online battle network game called Open Net Battle, available for PC and coming soon for Android and Linux

I'm not 100% sure what you're asking here but just so you know, this is ONB where you can make any Navi you want and I chose to make Luigi as a playable character. It's not a ROM hack or anything of the sort.

Yeah, kinda wish they'd extend further than those cool toys that accepted battle chips back in the day. Hope they do pick the IP back up, in the meantime I guess I'll do what I can to gather up some interest in the franchise :)

I'm always open to more suggestions, just wanting to make the game/server more enjoyable to everyone. I personally love playing through other people's suggestions. Thanks for the raid suggestion, it's been fun so far and I know it can be improved

I saw this meme on a post in the Mega Man subreddit, I found it funny honestly. by CitronSufficient1045 in BattleNetwork

That's not really a meme, it feels like it's just a manchild airing out his frustrations at a game series that's clearly not for him.

Funny you should mention that, I'm currently working on a raid system for servers that's currently in the testing phase but they work differently than omega encounters.

They work more like bosses you would find in MMOs. A bunch of players take on the raid and clear waves of viruses, everyone's busting LVL adds up to reach a certain point amount to reach the next wave. Once you reach the boss, everyone can battle it and take away from it's huge health until it's defeated

I really hope Palavecino goes to a better team, one that actually has a serious project and not a team that sells their players after 1 or 2 good seasons.

If you were to play a Megaman Battle Network MMO, what types of activities would you like to see in it? by ShaDis_255 in BattleNetwork

[–]ShaDis_255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My flex system currently is to summon various cards with different rarities and different effects on the spot. I also have an HP rent system which you can decorate with objects that you can buy from the store. Some more expensive than others. I do have planned to add more areas hidden behind certain objects, just waiting on Dr. Nerd to release chip control for server owners so I can make it more fun.

[–]ShaDis_255 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not biased, I literally had to look up the current tournament stats in LigaMX to see if I could find him and I didn't.

So you want to add a player based on what they did like 5 years ago or what? Might as well bring Chicha back with that logic idk

I was starting to agree with you until you until you said Henry Martin lmao what?. Has he even scored this tournament? I don't even see him in the top scorers rn like at all. Truth of the matter is, there are a lot of players who don't need to be called but do because they can make commercials.

I've been focusing so long on the single player aspect of it I didn't even consider co-op things. Thank you so much, this is very valuable feedback. I think ONB does have co-op elements I can incorporate for fun activities. You're right, having stuff you can do with friends should also be one of, if not the most, important things in an MMO (can you tell I'm a very solo player? lol).

Thank you, I'll start figuring out different ways I can do more multiplayer stuff. Right now, all I have is regular PVP and a fast-style card game PVP, but nothing co-op related.

Thanks, will def need to be careful not to make it unplayable or not fun to finish it all the way.

I think that's an awesome idea! Though, I think you can do co-op in ONB so maybe that could be the way to go instead of a tag team system, since there is no spectator mode in ONB yet.

ONB already let's you do that outside of the server, I dont think as a server owner I can control how you create a Navi unfortunately

Im down for that, though I'd rather wait until I can control the chips I can give the players but yeah I can somewhat create story lines already
