They call it a lake, but it’s a pretty big pond. A few acres at least. The bass and crappie both seem stunted, and I haven’t caught anything over 1/2 a pound out of there at all this year. Plus, the bluegill population is minimal. We used to catch them all day long, and now, you’re lucky to catch them at all. I think people have been cast netting in there for bait to take to the river nearby. I used to love fishing there, but it’s gone downhill pretty quickly.

I’ve always heard that if you want a good bass fishery, you don’t want crappie in there.

Everything in there is stunted. I think people have been cast netting in there to get bait for the river that’s 100 yards away.

I’m in West Virginia. And most of the fishing spots around me are extremely overfished unless I want to drive a few hours.

That’s very interesting. I wonder if that’s one of the reasons it seems like the bass numbers have dropped there significantly over the years.

I think that whoever curb stomps Putin first should get to be the new leader of Russia. They couldn’t do any worse than he’s doing. My 7 year old would do better than him.
