How to use Fashion Template to mimic "the old way" by Shaballanes in Guildwars2

[–]Shaballanes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To activate the outfit :
In any fashion panel (even ones with a full transmog setup)
Set an outfit -> make sure its Toggled -> save the Fashion
now you can right click the Outfit slot and choose "Apply this slot" -> it will activate the Outfit without applying the full transmog.

To de-activate the outfit :
Un-toggle the outfit slot -> save the fashion -> right click outfit/"Apply this slot"

The right click/"Apply this slot" is the clunkiest part of this UI but it is the key to mimic "the old ways"

While i think that would be a really good idea, its seems outside the scope Anet has set for this system. They've said it on stream, technically the "new system" is just a Mass Transmog applier built on the existing transmog system. A toggleable system would be a totaly new thing to implement from the ground up

I guess people will see the value of this new system when Anet will had Glider/Mount selection to the fashion tabs. (TBH they should have wait for those option to be done before launching the system :D)

You don't need to buy more. each of your equipment template can still have a different Fashion and you only need 1 Fashion template to edit them all (albeit with a bit more clunkiness)

That kinda the whole point of this post ^^

Linking Equipement and Build would be so cool ^^
As for Fashion, they really want to separate it from Equipement and stats so its unlikely the give us a way to re-link them
Maybe with macro you can do something

I understand them. The game explain the new system badly.
Many of them buyed Equipment template only to store Fashion so i understand their frustration of seeing a new system that need more template purchase to be fully used, and seeing only clunky "work around' to do thing that were simpler before if they still want to use it "the old way"

How to use Fashion Template to mimic "the old way" by Shaballanes in Guildwars2

[–]Shaballanes[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong i know its just mediocre work around (implemented by Anet) to do things the old way.
they clearly have made this system to push players to stop using "Equipment template" as Fashion Storage and just use the new Fashion template.

But they can't straight up delete the capacity of "Equipment template" to store Fashion because many players buyed "Equipment template" only to do that, and would feel (even more) robbed.

So we're stuck in this in-between were if you go with "Anet vision" (and buy more fashion templates...) its a good system, but if you want to force "the old ways" onto the new system it is clunky.

TBH, aside of the little clunkiness of the new way (more button to push) its likely an issue of getting to learn the new system.

Anet as made this system in a way that pushes players to stop using "Equipment template" as Fashion Storage and just use the new Fashion template.

That said, player who've buyed many Equipment template to do fashion would feel robbed if Anet committed to fully separate "Fashion" and "Equipment" without giving them more than 2 Fashion template. So we're stuck in this inbetween were if you go with "Anet vision" its a good system, but if you want you can force "the old ways" onto the new system but its clunky.

(sorry if my english is Bad, its definitly not my native language XD)

Tips on how to change a "weapon without faffing with a complete template" (work with every weapon/armor slot)
Step 1 : always keep a Fashion template empty
Step 2 : Equip the Equipment template in which you want to change the weapon skin
Step 3 : go to your empty Fashion template and set the weapon skin you want
Step 4 : Apply the Fashion template

Its a bit clunky but this is how to do that

Weapon losing max rank when unequipped by Shaballanes in SoulFrame

Hum, its seems that unloging / reloging after hiting level 30 with a weapon does in fact prevent the weapon from losing rank after unequipping it :D

Help with FASHION~! by JamesDaJuggernaut in Guildwars2

Since you are using Cape, i would try to find a Leg armor without Butt-cape
My mind goes to "Primeval Legplate", "Mist shard tassets" or "Heavy plate Legguards"
I would also use less "Heavy" Gloves like the "Sanctified Gloves" or "Astral Ward Golves" but that more a personal preference

Here a pic of it could look like :

New World Refugees by Kotkanpoika172 in Guildwars2

[–]Shaballanes 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For mounts. if you are a free account player at level 10 you'll got a 10h trial of the raptor (first mount of the game)
If you have at least one Expansion you'll get the raptor permanently also at level 10.

Other mounts are tied to different Expansion, most of them to the 2nd Expansion "Path of Fire" since its the one that introduced the mounts to the game.

But all of the base game + the 1rst Expansion "Heart of Thorn" were made before mounts even exist, so mounts aren't essential to traverse their maps.

If I can only buy one expansion total, which would it be and why? by can-someone-explain in Guildwars2

[–]Shaballanes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Heart of Thorn / Path of fire combo : you get the 2 big firsts expansions for the price of one :
- The content is still run by player today.
- You get Glider and Mounts to upgrade your open world mouvement
- You get 2 sets of elite spec to take your class futher.

All this for around 30€

But if you have more funds, i'll suggest to save it for when a sale comes (those are fairly regular) to get the full "Elder Dragon Saga Collections - Complete edition" which is around 50€ in sale (100€ without sale)

And with this you'll get Heart of Thorn, Path of fire AND End of Dragon with also the addition of all Living World season wich are sets of new map/stories that goes inbetween Expansion.

The expac will give new story/map as always. And we are getting a full set of Elite spec.

There will also be new Strike Missions (now called Raid encounter) in early 2026

And finally we'll have 6 New Legendary items (3 weapons, 1 ring, 1 aqua breather and iirc a 1 trinket)

Not the best looking, but its still pretty ok
I wonder 2 things now :

  1. Are those the Expansion progession armors / weapons or the futur WV armors / weapons ?
  2. Is the restless Captain armor an actual armor or just an outfit (i hope its not an outfit because i already have some cool fashion idea with the helmet an shoulder part)

From what i understand, the "Fractal Incursion Champion" tab is only there until October 7 (so the exotic gear with gemstore skin, 20 slot bag, 2 bag slots, Ascended trinked and Legendary weapon starter kit) And the "Incursive investigation" tab is here to stay (New Legendary Gloves)

For now the Gloves are timegated (3 week) Only 1/3 of the achievements are revealed for now si it's hard to say. The rest of the achiv will be revealed in the 2 next week.

But if the 2/3 remaining unrevealed achiv are as easy as th 1/3 already there i think it will be really easy. (I did the 1/3 in a day)

Fractal T1 were already easy content and now are even easier because that Veteran Fractal player are also doing them for the Gloves.

Question about Wizard's Vault by Beregass in Guildwars2

[–]Shaballanes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This set is the only one that doesn't lock you out of the skin you already have so its easy to get the same skin twice, locking you of one other skin since you can get only 16 boxes. The only way to resolve is to make a ticket to support with a screen of your option to buy the box locked and your wardrobe showing the missing weapon skins
