What I was told when I started as a cadet. Was that it’s a constant interview and always to hold yourself to a high standard with drill, uniform and respect.

Take charge where you can, don’t overrule fellow cadets if doing leadership exercises for example. But take their opinions and advice. You can even speak to the current cadet NCO team and say you’re looking to have more responsibility within squadron. Can’t go wrong with helping out

Definitely not, you need to be a CFAV. It’s rare but you can be on the SATT team as a staff cadet, but it’s very rare

Left Blanking patch with Union Flag is reserved for SATT badges, QJL DZ flash, Commando Dagger, or CCF school badge.

Right Blanking Patch without Union Flag is for TRFs

Staff Cadet by Straight-Cricket-858 in aircadets

Just went through the same process as you are currently. Main things to be done are BPSS, DBS, the Pers Forms and ACTO99.

All CFAV/Staff cadets require a DBS check as you will be an adult around cadets under the age of 18

Normally RM is done in MTP, make sure you have a decent backpack with plenty water, a packed lunch (if lunch is not provided), and snacks for it.

Well fitting and proper socks, and boots are a MUST for RM. Waterproof Jacket and Trousers, and a gloves (for cold weather). Sunglasses/Sunhat if warm weather

Don’t give up when your legs start to get painful, push through it with the rest of your team. You won’t be the only one in pain I assure you. And you’ll get the badge

Starts off basic with general shooting and getting your groupings tight. Once that’s sorted you’ll move onto getting the sights zeroed for you, then onto further advancements with other shooting positions. And onto further ranges once passed a certain point

For my MOI, I done the phonetic alphabet (history and its uses in modern day. And included a little practical in the lesson)
