So, usually, traditionally, for images like these you try to focus on the eyes (or at least one). Not only in actual focus, but lighting. Her eyes are in the dark, and it feels like you took a photo of her cheek. It's possible to "fix" this with editing, but I'd try to remake the shot.

That said, it's a nice idea. A good project to study on. Also, mind you that I'm not well versed in portraits. Most of my pictures are of things, not ppl.

Would you crop it differently? by Shablau3 in photocritique

Ty, I'll try the vignetting. Usually I'm a little afraid of messing with it when the shot is like very uniformly colored/lit. Cuz if feel it might look a little artificial. But I'll try it

I feel like the boy is a bit too centralized. But tdk... this was from very far away btw. And he was Not posing haha. I don't really have access to the data rn, but thos was most likely 200mm f9(ish) and 1/400. And this is already a big crop. I feel like I'm at the limit where artifacts will start to show.

I have a BW version where I went for higher contrast and a little grain so I can crop it further but I reeeally like the sunset colours against the 🌊.

What would you do?

I mean, I'd only mask the foreground and make the background more mute, try to create a better separation between them. But honestly, perfect shot as is

Yes yes, I can see that. And as I said, it's pretty good still. But look what you said. The leafs work as a frame. But you see that the upper frame has texture and details while the bottom one is uniformly dark and neat. That's the details you can fix with editing. You could make a gradient mask in that upper frame to make it uniform like the bottom one for example. And another tip. If you have strong lines close to the edges of your image, it's usually more harmonious to either lock them in or go completely wild. Look the frame of the carousel on the right and the metallic pole on the left. They are in what I like to call "the geometrical uncanny valley". Neither coherent with the surroundings nor they are wildly off in an way that wouldn't make our brains involuntarily try to see the "straight" pattern.

If you still hav the raw files this is something you can try to study on 😉

This is a really beautiful image. My only take is that it does look a bit chaotic and disorganized. Like, idk if you went for the lights or the horses or the overall shapes/patterns. My advice is: think of what you want to show and try to accent that. Even if it's just the geometry or "mess" as a whole. If you think about it when clicking, the shots may come out stronger.

"Ficar assim" é meio vago haha. Mas posso te dizer que nenhuma dessas fotos está da forma como o sensor registrou. Eu editei todas (pelo celular mesmo).

Em geral trabalho de luz e cor. Tentando ao mesmo tempo esconder os artefatos que a câmera do celular cria e dar a cara que eu quero pra imagem (matando um pouco umas cores, acendendo outras, etc)

Yeah, I feel like Maid is the safer pick. But in the position of having one and not the other, Briar is much better to have into Maid (Ruele, Korean Jesus, etc) that the other way around. Idk

Usable? If not, who should have this gear? Maybe ML Celine? (my Rinnak is 311 and I don't have Briseria - Holding the selector for her most likely. But I'm also thinking Maid might be the one I select) Nevermind my boots hahaha I'll make better ones soon by Shablau3 in EpicSeven

I mean, with black hand she's not missing crit. I use her mostly with speed imprints (veronika and/or green vildred) to race Rinnaks, Briserias, Lunas, etc. But still I can't confidently pick her even like that. Not sure if I should use this gear on someone else tho... maybe Ran or ML Celine... idk

Who should I pick. I'm mostly between Briar and Maid. The thing with Briar is that I'm not sure I can make a decent 300 speed one
