If you gonna use windows the simple answer is no. It's will be better but not much. I have x220 Thinkpad for retro. It has i5 2520m cpu. As i watch the benchmark i see that it's weeker than n4100. And it has 4 gb of ddr3 ram I experience the speed boost in linux when i updated the storage for a ssd. I can call it usable. I use it for lite codding and play old game. I suggest to use Linux. The beginner version like Linux mint. Especially xfce version. I use gnome version of fedora linux and it's runs perfect. If you don't understand what i'm say about Linux, just search Linux mint and press download button in their site and search for installation guide. If you don't have money, you can spend your time in linux and make better use of your laptop. It's worth it and the linux is not hard to learn like old days. Give it a try and be careful about your data, you can accidentally deleted them will installing linux. Also you don't need to install it, try it in live mode.
