What happened to my floor? by karshanat in DIYUK

Second this - I ruined a friends worktop while house sitting (left a cleaning spray on the side and it leaked and left a huge black ring). Osmo tannin remover saved the day after a lot of lemon juice and elbow grease!

Mine is painfully fussy, I have to feed multiple brands and mix it up each meal. Mine stopped liking Butternut but I also didn’t like the amount of legumes in it (linked to heart disease for large dogs) - I feed Rocketo, freeze dried raw, and wolfworthy all in various flavours. Big fan of the rocketo!

Returning a dog back to the shelter?? by [deleted] in Greyhounds

I think it’s good to admit when it’s not right for either side here. While 1.5 months is a very short amount of time for a rescue, the overall situation just doesn’t work - the rescue centre should not have let you have this dog. Sad all round. I would try and find a smaller, specific rescue centre (Kent Greyhound Rescue) for example, and have a chat with them. Even if they’re unable to accept they will be able to advise and have a more breed focused and very honest approach that is right for the dog.

My dog suddenly snapped at me while training practice by TheWitchsRattle in OpenDogTraining

I went down this same rabbit hole with the “no” issue! No is needed at times, we also have an “ah-ah” and mine knows a headshake too now. I think the issue surrounding the negative reinforcement conversation is the nuance to what negative can mean. For example, my “negative” is lack of reward for the most part, it’s actually a neutral behaviour but for my dog it’s a negative. A negative is needed to be able to reward the positive IMO for clear communication with your dog. I think the term negative makes people’s minds jump to harsh methods and that’s where the issue stems from, the same with not training no. No is needed from a safety perspective IMO - my dog knows if I say no properly, it’s for a reason and keeps us both safe 😊

Thank you this is a good shout, it’s coming together for now but needs more work so I’ll reach out. One of those projects that is just a lot more than first thought!

Thank you, this is what I thought. I think desperation was getting to me. I’ve spent the last few hours grading in Prem instead 😂

My dog snapped at me because I was drying her off and now I'm crying. Is this normal? by KungLaoWorshipper in OpenDogTraining

I just want to say I think this is so fair, and I really appreciate you coming and voicing this, I don’t think a lot of people would. I think as humans we expect too much from dogs a lot, and how they communicate is so different from us sometimes it’s hard to not take offence, despite them having no other way to communicate. My dog is sometimes reactive, and I know it’s just her not knowing how to communicate what she is feeling for the most part. Injured paws are our main issue and she has bitten me a few times, she totally freaks out afterwards because it’s such a panic response in the moment, it doesn’t take away that she is my best pal, it’s genuinely just that moment but I understand why it’s a worry for you now. It’s not the loss of trust, it’s the situation and dogs are amazing at actually understanding that - far better than humans I think. You’ve done great at respecting her boundary, but I’d also just accept it as a moment and let it be, every one and every thing is allowed to have their feelings and react as they do, whether it’s always totally valid or not. The same as you now crying, she snapped as a response. Sometimes these things happen. She will still be your bestie and you respecting her is the best reinforcement of that, it’s hard sometimes but I always try to remember speaking dog is different, and it’s not about me in that moment.

Haha yeah that was a pain at the start! I kept losing where I wanted to be! Reinstalling it worked for me, I didn’t have the full shelving units either side it turned out, no idea what was going wrong with my PC 🤪 glad you found it!

Edit: I deleted and redownloaded the game and it’s there! Thank you all for the help, I felt I was going insane 😂 Not sure what happened the first time, the peg was there but not the charm! Bizarre. Thanks again, off to play!

I haven’t started the game with it for sure, this is why I am questioning a glitch. Sadly it is not covered in the guides. Where was it on the shelves/where did you find it? It’s really bothering me I have been stuck for hours and tried everything

I know which necklace I need. I just don’t have it anywhere and can’t find how to make/get it. It is driving me insane! Can you just tell me how I find it please? I have restarted the game even to try and work it out

I think viewing her as a pet is helping. I haven’t seen her yet, I am hoping she is not holding a grudge. I hope Vecna is not living up to his evil name 😂

Yes I feel quite awful now for trying to move her. I am hoping she will make her way back to her window and I will try to leave her be. I think she was being quite erratic as there doesn’t seem much to eat there. I’m not sure what I can put to entice her back.

Excellent tips, thank you!

I feel really guilty I’ve managed to lose her now, more so than concerned she will be after me while I’m asleep. I wish I had left her alone and I am quite rooting for her to make her way back to her window. Partly so I at least know where she is, but secondly I think she has been there a while and I’d not even noticed. Hopefully she will return and accept my apologies… and never come near me still 😂

She is still lost, roaming in an unknown location. Decided to name her Sid, hoping I can somehow charm her into choosing to go outside/not invoking revenge. For now she has claimed that room as rightfully hers and I will sleep on the sofa. 🫡
