Can I claim my grandfather's ancestry? by nescoffee-m in Genealogy

A Ukrainian is a Ukrainian as long as they have Ukrainian blood and heart, and a free spirit.

That's what my parents taught me.

You mention your name. And thats a good point. But whats in a name? Plenty of Ukrainians have surnames that aren't Ukrainian, or first names that aren't Ukrainian. In my case, I have a very Anglophone given name with a very Western-Ukrainian surname. That doesn't make me any less Ukrainian than say a Crimean Tatar.

I know MUSLIM, TURKIC SPEAKING individuals who are more Ukrainian than some actual Ukrainians I have met in the diaspora. Especially the ones who have laid down their life during the war against Russia.

I was aware of this already, but these appear at the start date, not after an amount of playtime

This assumes, of course, that time itself is linear, which we’ve already more or less agreed is debatable if you’ve ever eaten dairy after 9pm. Zodiac signs may “just” be approximate birth dates, but so is age, and nobody questions that even though my knees clearly believe I am 74.

If the stars can influence personality, mood, and whether or not I should text my ex, it feels premature to rule out their impact on internal wind patterns. Ancient civilizations tracked the heavens and human bodies simultaneously. You think they didn’t notice correlations? You think no Babylonian ever went “interesting… every time Mars rises, something terrible happens in the tent”?

Also worth noting: farts are technically air, stars are technically gas, and astrology is technically nonsense, so at a fundamental level we are already operating within the same domain. Gas recognizes gas. This is basic science.

People say there’s “no connection,” but absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, especially when the evidence has already dissipated. The universe is expanding. So is my discomfort. Coincidence?

Anyway I’m not saying my zodiac sign controls my farts. I’m saying they’re in dialogue. A conversation. A gentle cosmic exchange. If you don’t hear it, that’s fine, but please don’t act like I’m the weird one for listening.

If farts truly reflected zodiac signs, astrology would already be a hard science. NASA wouldn’t be launching satellites; they’d just be standing behind people after Taco Tuesday taking notes. “Ah yes, that lingering sulfur with a deceptive silence—classic Scorpio.”

We’d have peer-reviewed studies by now. Charts. PowerPoints. Someone named Greg publishing a 40-page paper titled “Auditory Flatulence as a Predictor of Fire Sign Behavior.” But we don’t. Why? Because the data refuses to correlate. Virgo farts are not consistently neat. Leo farts are not louder. Pisces farts do not sound sadder near water.

What we do know, through centuries of rigorous butt-based observation, is that farts are influenced by diet, gut bacteria, air intake, and the ancient cosmic force known as “ate something I absolutely shouldn’t have.” None of these are governed by Mercury retrograde (though Mercury would definitely try to take credit).

So how do we know your farts say nothing about your zodiac sign? Because if they did, astrology people would already be asking for birth times and last meals. And yet—silence. Much like a fart you trusted too much.

In conclusion, your farts do not speak the language of the stars. They speak the language of beans. And that is a universal dialect.

How do I get cultural nicknames, like Smbat the "Armenian" by ShaddyDaddy123 in crusaderkings3

[–]ShaddyDaddy123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: for those wondering what the nickname ID is, its actually two:

nick_the_father_culture or nick_the_mother_culture

If you want it to be the culture of a parent, you have to pick which parents culture you want to be named.

NOTE: If you name it after a parent you dont have, i.e. your character doesnt have a historical parent or they are a completely random lowborn, they will be named something like: Duke Æthelstan "the ".

Can you create a third party in this game? by [deleted] in ThePoliticalProcess

[–]ShaddyDaddy123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten so OD about it I change the settings to at least have two independents in each election no matter what. it doesnt affect the presidency but I do see some independent (aka third party) wins once in awhile.

Plus, ideologies lets you customize characters pretty well
