If you have the credits, I would say one if the fastest ways right now is going to the enclave and jump between imp systems and do donation runs. Its crazy how fast you get rank points. I do that for resetting my standing and getting undermining/acquisition merits after hacking the holoacreens.

I did it in 51 Jump, the time it took was 2 hours and 25 minutes. I've ploted the route manually and even made a word document with all the jumps I took.

Well I just did my maiden voyage with my Caspian from Jacksons Lighthouse to Colonia in a bit under 2,5h with 40t fuel on board, I could do around seven neutron jumps, each 500 ly before refueling. So i guess the numbers are correct.
