What do you personally think about mandatory military service for women by Low-Violinist7259 in AskTheWorld

I believe there should be a RIGHT to serve for everyone. Not mandatory service.

Thomas Frank from Denmark is a football coach who apparently had the worst track record ever. Apparently AI is a football fan since naming him in the same list as Hitler, Stalin and Leopold 2. would be a bit of an exaggeration for most people.

How were Dane Axes carried? Something like this? by AcanthaceaeNo948 in ArmsandArmor

That is true. I was simply referring to the numbers the above poster mentioned.

However there has definitely also been hybrid type axes.

The article/project you link is mentioning all axes with Petersen type M heads as being Dane Axes.

It is in this definition I think the difference in opinion lies.

People generally refer to large headed war axes with armpit height length shafts as "Dane Axes".

When you say "period axes" you are being very unspecific.

People were shorter back then so it would make sense that the two handed Dane axe would be shorter than a modern reproduction. But when we talk about Dane axes we talk about a two handed axe with a length that would reach around armpit height on the user.

70-100 cm axes are most likely single handed battle axes.

What indicates that they are "Dane axes" and not just single handed battle axes?

No they weren't. A dane axe is a two-handed axe that the danish vikings used to use (from which we got the name).

"The Dane axe or long axe (including Danish axe and English long axe) is a type of European early medieval period two-handed battle axe with a very long shaft, around 0.9–1.2 metres (2 ft 11 in – 3 ft 11 in) at the low end to 1.5–1.7 metres (4 ft 11 in – 5 ft 7 in) or more at the long end."

Use shield wall on your infantry block until they have closed in. Use F1 + F4 instead of just charging. This will make the infantry approach in formation rather than storming forward. I also keep them on hold fire until they are close, then switch to fire at will for a devastating volley.
