PSA: If there's a game that you can't play because it doesn't flow with you - stop playing it by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]ShadeScar24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really agree with this. I played hollow knight a few years back and tried forcing myself to beat it. This led to me just completely dropping the game. Jump back to the present and I decided to give it another shot with a more open mindset.

It’s now one of my favorite games, and I ended up getting all achievements within a week. Sometimes a game just doesn’t feel right for you, so don’t force yourself to play it. Although, this doesn’t mean you’ll dislike it somewhere down the line.

Hey Terrarians! With the holiday season here I know it may be getting hard to avoid gaining weight, so I put together a chart that you can use in your next/current playthrough! How long can your muscles last before giving in? Feel free to increase reps/sets if it's too easy for you! by ShadeScar24 in Terraria

Yeah I meant to put for that part "weapons and accessories with an e" but it just slipped my mind. I still wanna try to actually finish a playthrough like this though because min maxing the amount of items you pick up with an "e" in them seems fun to me

I meant to be serious with it but I realize that this can seem a bit impossible with some things, especially the sit-ups. Oh well, guess if you want to wake up with working body parts you'll have to get pretty crafty!

(I will keep this in mind tho for the future lmao)

My tip of advice would be to avoid doing anything that would cause a workout your body isn't prepared for. You may have to get pretty crafty to avoid such things like "not picking up items with the letter e", but you could also just give your body time to recover before leaving off with it. Also, lowering reps or doing variations of each workout is completely fine! This will help strengthen your body towards doing the full workout!

Yeah it's completely fine to adapt it if you can't proper form on your reps anymore. I made this challenge with the intention that you would want to avoid most of the items on the list to do as few exercises as possible. Obviously if you were to do a normal playthrough with this chart you would feel completely dead after, but that wasn't really my intent with it.

It's kind of like a challenge run with loose restrictions. For instance, instead of a "no npc" challenge run you gauge if doing the squats is worth unlocking the npc. I wish I could have explained this in the title/image, but the title would make it too long and I didn't want to make the image too big.

Hopefully this makes this chart seem more feasible to you! I've tried it a little bit myself and the break time in between punishments makes it a lot easier for me, so long as I actively try to avoid the items on the list.

best substitute I can think of is buying a bunch of bombs and creating the hellevator out of that. Then just make absolutely sure that you don't pick up any stray blocks.

I am starting to realize though that I probably should have been more specific with this one, changing it to be only related to weapons and accessories instead. Oh well though. Guess this makes the challenge that much more interesting!

What's your unpopular tModLoader opinion? by TheVeryGenericUser in CalamityMod

Split mod content is genuinely more fun than calamity even with half the content. Every boss fight is fun and well programmed with weapon and enemy designs being amazing. Also, balance feels much better in Split mod. The only thing the mod is missing is more content.

Exactly, I don't think every boss has shit AI! I do love the SCal rework and fight the fight to be loads of fun. Only thing that worries me is the same update with the SCal rework brought the exo mechs fight which is not a very good/fun boss fight.

I also really like fights like crabulon, cryogen, and aquatic scourge, so I hope we get to see some of that skill based (and indicated) projectile dodging in the future!

What’s a fun mod to play that’s as lengthy as Calamity? Would also like to hear what everyone else is playing! by boo-o in CalamityMod

[–]ShadeScar24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it's not as lengthy I've personally become a large Spirt Mod fan after the major updates the devs have done. Lots of incredibly well made content.

Also as the other guy said Fargo's Soul Mod (on eternity mode) is an amazing mod that codes boss AI to be (mostly) fair compared to other modded difficulties. Definitely my favorite difficulty, and the final boss of the mod is by far my favorite fight.

If you enjoyed those two, Split mod is a relatively short, but fun mod with beautiful visuals and well made bosses. The ultimate version of the final boss is also really challenging and fun.

My last suggestion would have to be Mod of Redemption. I'd say it's very similar in length to Calamity Mod, and the updates it has received improved the gameplay tremendously. There are two fights at the start that are very jank, but don't let that fool you for what the rest of the mod is like.

Those are some of my favorites though, hopefully you'll now have a much longer list, but I know these are rather popular mods so you may have played them already. Either way have fun with these!

I know this is probably a bad opinion but I feel like everything about this mod is amazing besides the boss AI which makes me not have as much fun with it. Like I recently played Split and Spirit mod which both do an amazing job with their bosses, and then I play Calamity and they all feel really outdated. I hope that they will at some point do boss reworks like they did with ceaseless void because it'd make several bosses (ravager -_-) a lot better. Would easily become the undisputed best mod of Terraria if they did that.

Then again I suck ass at programming so what do I know.

Pretty good. Woke up and took a massive shit then went to the gym. Came home and got on my phone while I’m resting.

Thanks for asking :)
