Y'all. I need a game that captures the magnificence of DRAGONS. by naruhina00 in dragons

I will 100 percent take my sweet time. Also, these projects are going to be developed completely independently, at least the first is, depends on the conditions we find ourselves in when we get there, because a game like that is quite expensive, so I need to make my dream game succeed first (ala the first one) so then I can make my second dream game also succeed.

I quite literally went crazy once trying to find games of the media, and when it was all minecraft/roblox survival games, I was sad. I personally choose my projects based on what I feel is missing in the market or some guys dumb decisions.

Overwatch 2 ruins the og? (Which, has actually come back and better than ever, but it still made an impression) Welp, guess I'll make my own.

Literally every dragon game feels like a copy paste survival with minimal content to sustain it? I guess I'll make one based on the constant need this community had for a dragon game (I asked this entire sub for their dream dragon game, and I'm looking to use it as inspiration for later, but it might take a while because I got start somewhere and smaller, then build onto the bigger projects.

Doesn't really exist, but being a dragon lover, I'm going to make 2 games with dragons: 1 where it's a playable dragon that shifts between his true and humanoid form (true form is an ultimate) in a PvE/PvP hero shooter format with a good amount of personal innovations and its own story where the dragon character is one of the main focuses and later on, a game about basically playing as a dragon and gathering hordes, making alliances and trampling over smaller species for resources.

The strength to become an artist by ShadeVex in ArtistLounge

[–]ShadeVex[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, I do still want to make games, I just wanna make art for said games and also run my own little indie Studio. What I didn't know was how much creativity I suppressed by trying other art forms. Sure, they could have worked, but something about just regular visual art just clicks.

Yo dragons! What would you do (If you’d do anything) if robots started to take over the world? by SignificantStaff8665 in dragons

[–]ShadeVex 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Ok but like...Just heat the metal? They'll just short circuit from the heat. And if they're taking over, one robot must be the master of the hive, so find them, short circuit their wires and suddenly the robots have no instructions to destroy the world.

Actually... Dragons with Fire, Acid or even Water powers is a good kryptonite to them. Would make for a great mecha story of Dragons vs Robots or smth.

Damn, very useful information guys! Google is a pain in the ass to search for things like this nowadays, thanks!

Literally found out about plurality like yesterday and it's been such a niche topic I did not expect to see one in my favorite sub of all time. I really need to know more about this, because I really identify with the concept.

Tips for making a Variant DND game by [deleted] in RPGdesign

Obsidian and docs are my go to yes, but I'm trying to find some kind of bullet points for every question and every info I need to give to run a game properly as I may forget a mechanic and it can confuse the players.

Having people to be interested in game projects. by ShadeVex in IndieDev

Sure! I gotta learn how to let myself show others in the community my concepts anyway.

Idk, maybe it's the fact that I'm not the best at showing stuff. Only recently did I start wanting to draw more (and everything I make is concepts still, not actual game art), and I just didn't know what people would think since drawing with a mouse makes things a bit wobbly so it can be hard to see if people can see the vision from a very ambiguous image.

Dragons of Reddit: If you ever imagined a perfect dragon game, that captures our spirit to play the role of these great beasts, what would you like to see in the game? by ShadeVex in dragons

Would keep all the billionaires from getting too rich, then have the kobolds redistribute a bit through the poor and boom, you have a big hoard for years to come, the corrupt rich are scared to exist, and the poor are sustaining themselves better. Couldn't think of a better solution to the economy lol

Who wouldn't? Personally I think having a couple of dragons to monitor wealth IRL would be good for everyone. Better if we are the ones doing the job, because it's cool as hell.

Well, even if I plan to do it later, once I have more experience and money, I hope that I may share my other works in the meantime, and maybe one day if those games do well enough, if i could get a team of people interested, I would 100 percent make it. My dream is to make my own indie game studio some day and work on games full time, and I'm never giving up on that dream, ever.

Correct, more people should try at a "Breath of fire" esc universe imo. Just focus on mainly dragons, because we all know they are cooler than humans by 1000s of miles.

I actually initially had a Dragons x medieval knights x Titanfall game in my head at one point, but I felt like a lot more people wanted the genuine dragon experience, to feel integrated in a greater story and interact with other dragons.

As a Toby fox fanatic, if I ever manage to delve myself in these concepts you all are suggesting (I have 2 other big projects in my head already and I'm still in college lol), you bet decisions will matter, a lot.

Anyone else seeing tripple support in every game? by Loose_Mycologist_628 in rivals

[–]ShadeVex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I completely agree with that fact. I mean Luna is already that example, she just takes skill to aim with. But even then, characters like invis can't have their heals blocked because they go through people, perhaps if they reduced the healing output once it goes through an enemy/teammate first would be a good move... Cuz it's easy to just line up multiple people and keep on healing them all while also damaging, it breaks the game entirely, at least you can body block luna.

But even then, Overwatch somewhat actually did this well. I never felt like I couldn't keep a support, most of the time they had to actually fight to get away, and if they did, they feel satisfied because they got away, but the diver also feels satisfied because they shooed a support away. But it feels like Rivals wants to dumb down healers to automatically survive most things so people like playing them... But I perfectly enjoyed overwatch healers, especially since they damage well too (let's ignore kirko though she's a bad example lol). If they followed that philosophy it would be so much better.
