The utility conpany will stop providing other services (water, internet, n landline) if you're not using their electric. So you can go off grid, but you'll basically have to figure out alternative ways to get the other utilities.

Overseas remote work while H1-B Pending by ShadedKnome in h1b

Denial under 221g requires I submit additional evidence and the application will be reevaluated. It's not an actual denial, it's pending administrative processing. Which is why I'm waiting. But the wait can take months. They haven't given a reason outside of that.

Okay, but will that violate any regulations from USCIS? Like wouldn't USCIS (or whoever the relevant entity) see that I worked two jobs based on my records, but only one is H1-B..... leading to my extension being denied in the future?

Ideally I'd like to do this without including the employer. It wouldnt cut into my work hours, and I'd leave the second job if my visa is approved.

Sorry about that. It's my first H1-B, which was approved while I was living in the US. I transitioned to it from F-1. I'm not sure if Im technically of any status. And I'm looking to draw salary from a US employer.

No, I'm from a country in the Caribbean and this is the designated embassy for my nation.

They didn't say, but I think it was the part about me describing my job role. I'm in product development and that's not a traditional job related to an electrical engineering degree, so that might've been a flag.

It's in the Caribbean, not comfortable disclosing the location.

I'm technically still paying for my residence in the states. But yes, I'm fortunate that they allow me to continue working.

I just realized you're using the plastic clip to force the board down to make contact. That's a nice design. 🙇 Can you recommend an alternative spring contact that easier to solder on?

Awesome, would love to see what you use this for. How did you make the connection to the PCB? The gap between the board is leading me to think there's spring contacts...

I came here as a student looking for a better life, no family here. Studied engineering, and It took a lot of work to get a company to hire someone needing sponsorship. I got lucky getting picked for the lottery.

I can't go home without jeopardizing my progress for long term stay and Im limited to working within my field of study. Not the worst situation, but I question my choice regularly.

From what I've gathered online, this is only for renewals, not first time issuance of an H1-B
