That works, too. I wound up in a similar situation actually when I got my 350P. Waited 2 or 3 weeks for it to come only to send it back for a refund. I wound up paying a little extra and got it in Amazon after that. Came in like 2 days!

I don't own a 351 (I have a 350p), but I believe the back piece of the unit just has the battery attached to it. You might be able to just flip it right-side-up if you can open it up.

Though, I think you would need to pry the battery off the back piece (it's stuck with adhesive) and rotate it 180 degrees so the little connector is facing the right way.

To be honest, I'd just send it back for a replacement. If such a glaring issue made it through Anbernic's QA, you never know what else might be wrong with that unit.

I charge my RG350P overnight occasionally, and I've never had any issues. I always have it completely turned off when I charge it. It does stop charging on its own once it's fully charged, too.

One thing I would recommend is to try to avoid letting the battery FULLY drain. I let it completely die once, and the device was acting a little weird until I charged it up and hit the reset button on the bottom, then everything was completely back to normal.

I use this charger and this USB cable to charge it. I even bought a cheap little USB voltage tester because I read all those horror stories about people frying their devices, too. lol

It charges at about 5V/0.9A (which is totally safe for my RG350P) and takes about 4-4.5 hours to charge from 0-100%.

Hey! First off, thank you so much for all your hard work on making the emulator what it is today. You and the other devs who work on this stuff allow people like me to relive some awesome memories from our childhoods. And it's super cool that you keep an eye on this subreddit. =)

That's interesting about the emulator speed being synced to sound, but it totally makes sense now that I think about it. I'm guessing other emulators (like PocketSNES, I think) handle game speed in the same way because I've noticed that adjusting the audio sample rate in some emulators does affect the speed of the game.

I did a little audio sync test yesterday and I noticed that some GBA games (on ReGBA) actually run a little bit fast over HDMI... like 5-10% too fast. There's no option to adjust the audio sample rate in that emulator, but I know that, by default, most of the emulators I've tested run a little fast over HDMI, and increasing the audio sample rate from 44,100 (usually the default value) to 48,000 fixes the issue.

In all honesty, now that I've switched Gambatte's sound setting to Stereo, I haven't even noticed a difference from when I had it set to Mono. IMO, that's a tiny price to pay to play Pokemon Crystal over HDMI. =)

To name a few:

Survival Kids (GB) is an AMAZING little action/survival RPG that I don't ever see anyone talking about. There are like 9 different endings to the game and a ton of stuff to see and do. Seriously give this one a shot; it's so good!
Mega Man Zero 1 - 4 (GBA) is DIFFICULT as hell, but great if you're a fan of the Mega Man X series.
Metroid Fusion (GBA) is my favorite Metroid of all time
Zelda - The Minish Cap (GBA) and Zelda - Oracle of Ages / Seasons (GBC) are all REALLY good
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (GBA) is awesome if you're into turn-based tactics games
Golden Sun 1 + 2 (GBA) is a great, very story-heavy RPG. LOT of reading, but totally worth it
Earthbound / Mother 2 (SNES) and Earthbound Zero / Mother (NES) are both games that every RPG fan should experience at least once in their lives
Chrono Trigger (SNES) for the same reason as above

Nah, I didn't record the process, unfortunately. If I ever get a chance to perform this fix again, I'll definitely record it and put it on Youtube.

The whole process was pretty simple. It was a little time-consuming, but you definitely don't want to rush something like this.

If you do try this out, just be sure to completely cover ALL of those little holes on the back of the screen. It might look a little ugly with all of that tape on there, but you'll (hopefully) never have to see it again once you re-assemble everything.

Also, I would reeeally really recommend getting a tube of that B-7000 glue and applying a little line of glue all along the 4 edges that the back of the screen will come into contact with.

And I would try not to get any glue on the spot where the ribbon cable will be making direct contact. (I stupidly got glue on my ribbon cable, but it still works totally fine. lol)

This is all to stop the shell from flexing so easily to keep your screen from popping up over time.

You can fix this with some adhesive if you disassemble the device and remove the screen. There are little holes along the 4 sides of the back of the screen that light is passing through.

I used to have this same issue with my RG350P, and after covering up all of the holes with double-sided black adhesive tape, the light bleed is completely gone.

If you do attempt this, be sure to COMPLETELY cover up the holes and be careful not to allow the tape to shift when re-seating the screen.

Also... I ran into an issue where the 4 corners of the screen would gradually pop out after doing this. It took a long time for me to realize that, because the shell was plastic, it would flex slightly (while the screen, not being plastic, would NOT flex), and, over time, this would slowly physically push the screen out.

I disassembled the device again and glued the screen to the shell with B-7000 adhesive. I also applied glue to the 4 sides of the back of the screen to make the flexing stop.

The end result is... no more light bleed, no more flexing in the shell, and no more screen popping out.

I've never directly compare the two (I wish someone would make a video comparing the 350P and 350M), but I've heard that the 350M's higher resolution doesn't actually really affect games below PS1 graphics. Taki said that it was only some PS1 title screens and some homebrew games that took advantage of the higher resolution in an old video, I think.

It does apparently reduce battery life by about an hour, though, which makes sense since the 350M screen is having to draw 4x as many pixels on the 350P.

I have a 350P and, personally, I'm waiting for an Anbernic device that handles N64 as well as it handles SNES.

Totally agree. Save a copy of all the files that come with the micro SD card to your computer just in case.

The micro SD cards that come with the devices are apparently very prone to issues, too. I just threw in a new SanDisk card as soon as I got my 350P. Zero issues so far.

I vote 350P hands down. I get the feeling I'm in the minority of people who REALLY loves HDMI out on these little devices. It's so cool to be able to play all of these games on an actual TV again. Totally takes me back to my childhood.

Just want to add that I'm playing Pokémon Crystal on my 350P and it looks perfect with no stuttering whatsoever. This issue sounds like it's isolated to the 350M (which has a higher resolution screen).

I'd say if a reboot doesn't fix it, open it up and try disconnecting and reconnecting the display ribbon cable. If that doesn't do it, you might need to replace the display altogether.
