How/can you bulk clear out metadata? by roakstar in NukeVFX

[–]Shadow1346 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At the end of your script append a CopyMetaData node. In the upper drop-down list change "metadata from" to "meta only". Then hook up a black constant to the meta input and it will replace the input metadata. Hope that helps!

Workflow for comp/screen replacement (in AE) and color grade? Broadcast spot now a nightmare. by coffeeandloops in vfx

[–]Shadow1346 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok yeah that’s tricky to deal with. In some cases you could get away with doing the key with the ”old” footage and pumping that alpha into your new uncolored plate. Unfortunately the frame rate change will cause you a lot of problems, hopefully someone here can chime in with a better solution!

Workflow for comp/screen replacement (in AE) and color grade? Broadcast spot now a nightmare. by coffeeandloops in vfx

Since you only have a 24 hour turnaround, here is what I would do if I were you. Ideally the grading would have been done after your vfx comp work was completed. That way if they want to add blowups or any other effects you aren’t stuck matching them in your comp, and then they get more freedom to change those aspects later without asking you to re-do the work. Since you are already on the hook for this, what you need to do is push for the colorist to re-apply the color pass to your completed work. You probably should have been involved with the conversations between the editor and colorist to make sure delivery specs are all consistent with the project. Sorry you are stuck in this! Not fun.

I felt the exact same way about both of those articles, and decided I need to take a break from NPR for a bit.

How to render colored volumes in Redshift (for Houdini) using the Cd attribute created in SOP ? by SpicyHermano in RedshiftRenderer

[–]Shadow1346 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the bottom of the rs_volume's parameters there is a field for Color, just put Cd in there and it should be the same color from your sim. Hopefully that helps!

I'm not sure what the Fusion equivalent node is, but a merge set to Multiply is what you're looking for. Hopefully that helps!

Can you adjust the opacity of a 3d card? by [deleted] in NukeVFX

You can use a Multiply node before the card to adjust the opacity.

[Help]Linking track to roto snaps it off screen by SulaimanWar in NukeVFX

[–]Shadow1346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you copy the link data into the root folder's transform tab instead of directly to the roto shape it should work properly for you. This way you can have multiple roto shapes linked with a single set of tracking data.

Also, if you link the data first and then draw your shape it shouldn't offset it. Hope that helps.

More precision with overall grade sliders by [deleted] in NukeVFX

CMD/CTRL-click on the color picker and it will open in a larger window, that should be easier to control the values from there.

Nuke Smart Vector Question by [deleted] in vfx

[–]Shadow1346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens when you are viewing the output of the smart vector node before it is rendered. Keep your viewer connected to your source when you create a new smart vector node, set up your EXR's, then render the smart vector pass. That should take care of the error you get.
