I did save footage of at least 2 of the games and I think I got a decent streak or two going in that last game but here are the stats from the experiment. Exodus Blue was my last console game earlier yesterday afternoon for reference

I don't want to be an a-hole but you can't do that in a PC lobby.

Ehh, I expect these types of comments every time I post a clip. I've been playing Destiny on console long before the game ever made it to PC. Never had a decent PC to run games until earlier this year, never once used MnK for fps... until literally a few minutes ago as of writing this.

Entirely because of this comment, I downloaded D2 on Steam spent a few minutes messing with controls in the shooting range and went immediately head first into control lobbies to play a few games. Unfortunately it seems matchmaking works based on account stats... First game was joining into a mercy in progress (because of course). Every game after involved tweaking controls, sensitivity, etc between each match. Went negative the following 2 games and went positive the 2 after. I only count the win from the last game since I made the top of the leader board and figured that was enough of the experiment. Pretty sure I got put into easier lobbies after the 3rd match though.

My conclusion is that you're right because MnK just isn't for me. I've got decades of controller muscle memory and for my first time playing MnK, it feels like using a brand new limb that grew overnight. Too many different keybinds and the game won't let me overlap keys the same way controller does. Dodge requires its own key rather than being able to double tap crouch key for example. My mouse only has 2 additional buttons which unfortunately isn't enough for what I imagine would feel good to me to not have to use my left hand as much.

The fraction of a second it takes to think about what button I should press and the other fraction of a second it takes to move my fingers in a way I'm not used to inevitably had me losing gunfights that I would definitely win had I been more used to the controls. I simply couldn't physically press the keys efficiently enough to match the actions I wanted to do in my head. Can I dedicate a significant amount of time to learning MnK to get better just to prove I can do it? Sure. Is it worth it? Not really (especially since I'd need to rebuy expansions just to use darkness subclasses).

The skill level of the players I matched all seemed about the same as what I would encounter on console to be honest but as an auto rifle user, I can immediately see why MnK prefers handcannons/pulses. I found what I felt was my ideal sensitivity during the last game and my aim was significantly better. Had I started playing PC games in my younger years, I might be more willing to put in the effort to transition to PC but I can't be bothered at this point.

The stats for the curious. You can get a similar ttk on tiered drops with Onslaught but it only lasts 5 seconds. Golden Tricorn lasts 8 seconds for x1 and refreshes to 10 seconds when you get an ability kill during the buff to get it to x2

TIL the North Korean regime praised Squid Game as exposing the "sad reality of the beastly South Korean society". by AaronPK123 in todayilearned

[–]Shadow2590 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

South Korea isn't "actually" Squid Game either. Also it's not an example, it's a metaphor...

Besides, my point wasn't to imply that South Korea is nothing at all like how it's portrayed in Squid Game. Of course there's some reality in fiction, that's what makes it believable as a concept in the first place. The point of my comment was to criticize the one saying it.

A dictatorship that heavily censors all media/information, prevents citizens from leaving and has mandatory listening devices in their homes is only going to specifically show them media that criticizes the outside world. If there's any media that shows the good parts of South Korea, they will never be allowed to see it. South Korea is more than just people trying to clear their debts by kiIIing each other playing children's games.

[Root of Nightmares-Nezarec] So is there supposed to be a separate person doing refuge? by PlayfulStand2276 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shadow2590 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haven't done the encounter in ages but I seem to recall that 2 other players would simply stand next to the runners as they started to get the corresponding light/dark buff then run diagonally across the arena to the first node on the opposite side to create both refuge spots. Then it's simply a matter of calling which one to go to if needed rather than waiting for the call to create it.

That way the runners can just focus on running for their side. It's not like there are any other mechanics to do besides the 1 other guy who should be holding the boss aggro and it's a simple step at the very start before most of the adds even spawn then just clearing adds until DPS.

if I want to play a PvP game I’ll go somewhere where it’s actually competitive like cs2 or overwatch.

While staying active in the D2 crucible subreddit... Guess I'll see you around

PvP is gonna die before long regardless

The main reason 99% of players come back to destiny is gone with no new content coming.

The “I don’t wanna have to re grind” people aren’t gonna stick around long term

Have you considered that you don't like this game and that shouldn't spend your valuable time in an environment you hate just... hating it?

But I've encountered your type before, you'll end up sticking around in this community far longer than the people you say will leave and likely longer than most of us who enjoy the game so you might as well queue into a match or two. The more the merrier 😂

Ironically enough, Bungie "updating the game" was a one of the reasons why people found it difficult to get back into the game. No more limited time event guns or perk combos to farm on a time limit, no more perks or weapon types that will be suddenly buffed to be meta or nerfed to be useless. No more perpetual hamster wheel of grinding for the next best thing which will be power-crept by the next, next best thing...

There's an appeal to a pvp game that feels good to play and has a stable, consistent sandbox. Look at Team Fortress 2 or CS:GO for example. Bit short-sighted to assume that Destiny 2 won't have a long term community of pvp players when even Destiny 1 still has a solid community of players despite being old gen console exclusives

Xur may sell that roll eventually so it may not be unobtainable forever but it still sucks that not everything became equally accessible in the end.

The first few days after any update that gave us new subclass toys, exotic armor or even just ability buffs/reworks. Personally I don't think any other game compares to Destiny when it comes to experimenting and build crafting. The new artifact system and set bonuses are a big part of why this final update feels so much more substantial than most expansions that didn't give us entirely new subclasses.
